sadly a lot of it is about greed too, if someone can find a way to make money out of a situation, they will.

its sad but its the same in Canada too. Common sense is so rare we'll probably see it as a class in college. For those of you who social responsibility is gone I agree, many people want to blame someone other than themselves for their problems...and thats whe nthe class action suit comes along.

Don't even get me started on class action suits. I've been a member of numerous ones without my permission only because I registered that I bought a particular product. I bought an Epson ink-jet printer, registered it, and about 8 months later I'm now a member of a class action suit against Epson because their ink cartridges are being reported as empty by the computer even though there is a minute amount left. This was so unfair some lawyer decided to sue on my behalf and for his troubles gets millions of dollars and I get an offer of 50% off something at the Epson store so Epson is still getting more of my money on the already over-priced ink-jet cartridges. I didn't even bother, I just buy remanufactured cartridges that work just as well. I was also a member of a claim against Sony where they had put that destructive antiprotection on some of their CD releases that would put a vulnerability on your computer if you tried to convert it to mp3s.Again, I got a replacement CD and a free download from a certain catalog of Sony Music but the lawyers got millions. No point to the class action suit at least in the few I've kind of been involved in.Mike
