Sony PSP or Nintendo DS Lite

Post by BlueCrush »

I am thinking about getting a portable gaming system again and would like some opinions. I had a PSP before and liked it, but was wanting some more brain stimulating puzzle games as well as action and racing games. I saw that the Nintendo DS Lite, as well as it's games, are cheaper and has some interesting puzzle games. Are there any good puzzle games for the PSP. I am leaning towards the PSP but the price and game selections for the DS, have me swaying back and forth. Help me out and vote which one you would get as well as list some good puzzle games. Thanks.

I've got a Nintendo DS Lite, before that I had the regular Nintendo DS. One of the cool things about the DS is that it plays Game Boy Advance games as well. I have Tetris DS which is a cool new take on old school Tetris (you can pretty much play the regular game as well). There's a Mario Kart game for GBA and DS. I don't know if you've ever played the Advance Wars games. They are a lot of fun. It's sort of a cross between Risk and Chess I guess. Really cool series. I vote DS!

I like the brain games for DS, never played them but the commercials look addicting.

Well I went and checked out both systems in person to compare them and the DS seemed really small. I really like the feel/size/screen of the PSP. I think I am going to stay with the PSP. I will have to keep watch for a good deal on my local Craigslist for one. Thanks guys!

i'd go with the PSP, unless u have a ps2 then it'd be pointless cause thats what the PSP is..handheld ps2..used to be a fan of nintendo back in the snes and nintendo 64 stages..then lost it cause i found to many kiddy games..not enough mature games imo..and they never have the best games either...ie halo, gta, gran turismo, only series they have that owns is the zelda stuff, and some of the super mario

to me i would say get a DS, not the lite. the lite is smaller, and for me harder to hold, and after 20 minutes of playing a game i get the claw with the lite. and the "brighter screen" of the lite hurts my eyes. i have friends tell me their lite is so much better because they can play in the sun light. i laugh and call them nerds and then say "when is the last time you were outside and had a huge desire to play video games". shuts them up quick. lol.as for the PSP, it's meh to me. it has some fun games, but they feel like watered down versions of ps2 games. as for the DS, the advance wars games are very fun. mario cart DS is fun online. and the pictochat has actually been useful to me quite a few times. and the brain age games, i highly doubt the validity of what they claim. i'll see if i can find the article about how even edutainment games aren't as useful as old fashioned reading a book.another reason for the DS, ffxii revenant wings. god i want that game.

another thing, i don't know if the PSP has this, and it is kind of a grey area, but you can use Micro SD cards as the memory card, with adapter, and...play lots of games of it.

Yeah! Another PSP Playa! Socom:fireteam bravo 2! I'm playing onling every weekend and weeknights that I can keep my eyes open long enough. Let me know a day and time to meet ya for a little sniping action.Another cool game is the new star wars battlefront. A lot like socom play. I too just picked up wipeout pure, but next march there's a new version coming out. Wipeout prime (or something like that)My buddy just got one of the 'new' PSP slim's. I played with it a little. I don't like it! It's too light and flimsy. The battery case jiggles a lot during play. And the UMD door is really cheap! The only thing I do like with the slim is that you can plug it into your tv and play games or watch movies. And the larger internal memory (for web surfing.) I love the 'heavy' solid feel of my original psp.
