Well I'm back after being gone for almost a week. and another ruined Thanksgiving! However, I do have a Lot to be Thankful for including my LIFE.Monday 11/19 I show up to the Hospital ER with pain in my abdomen that started Saturday evening. Once walking in to the ER it took 3.5 hours till I finally saw a doctor. They started a bunch of tests and the results were positive for a Bad Appendix. SO basically I make my way to the O.R. for an appendectomy. Intially was told that the surgury would take about in hour and I would be released the next day. Tuesday morning arrives and the doctor makes the rounds and says that my surgery went well but the appendix was pretty bad and Gang Greenous. So they had me On antibiotics and gonna keep me around an extra day. Thankfully it wasnt so bad that it ruptured but it may have leaked a little.Wednesday arrives and I had a bout with nausea and vomiting through the night before so they keep me yet another night and more antibiotics. My wife and I were supposed to head to Houston to have Thanksgiving with an Aunt and Uncle of hers. TurkeyDay arrives and I'm starting to feel better and all my bodily functions seem to be operating again so they Release me around Noon.Right now I'm doing fairly well and glad to be out of the hospital. I get a week and a half to recover before i'm allowed to go back to work, which stinks a bit b/c i dont have income durring that time plus the time already lost. So I am now convinced that my Thanksgiving after a major move to a new place will be Ruined to some degree. It was 3 years ago after just moving to Wisconsin That there was a Fire in Our apartment building the night before thanksgiving. and in 1999 Just after moving to Missouri I hit a deer on the Highway on my way to my Wife's Parents House (fiance at that time) to spend thanksgiving with them.I hope everyone else had a much better week than mine!

Glad you're out and on the road to recovery. I've been off this week too, recovering from gall bladder surgery. Only hurts when I sneeze!

Sorry to hear about your TG week curse. I still remember my one and only surgery so far was an appendectomy when I was 14. Mine was close to bursting as well. It is not good if it does. I was disgnosed and in surgery the same day as well. Hope you are feeling better. Take Care.

Almost this VERY SAME THING happened to me back in ~2002 IIRC, but it was the night before TG...!! I wasn't feeling right, things weren't "moving" the way that would have "normally". So I got on WebMD and started looking, sure enough I had all the warning signs of my appendix going south for the winter..!!! I got in fast, the doctor said he "didn't" have to operate at that time, but at I would be back within the week, so I said "do it"... It was kinda funny, I said to the doc "I'm gonna miss dinner tomorrow" he said, "don't worry, you'll be eating dinner... " I was joking with the anastieasologist(sp?) as I was being wheeled in and being set up for the operation, I was like "I work in a clean room, that is 100 times cleaner than this operating room, just NOT sterile...!! He said, "take a deep breath and count back from 5." I was like 5...4...3...........2.....................My biggest problem was the incision got infected and I spent the next 2 weeks indoor as almost every time I would move it would drain... eeewwwwww Glad you are ok man... I would call it RUINED, just unique...!!!
