My Vibes curse comes right back to show it's ugly face in record time!

Yep, just a few hours past 3 days later and on Thanksgiving night I was arisen from my bed to the sound of my alarm in instant panic mode! When I brought it home 3 nights ago there wasn't even parking in front of the house, so I had to park it down the street. It was supposed to go straight to the back yard, but due to my brother-in-laws wife getting 3 tickets and nearly towed for not having her registration updated, apparently she decided to put her car back there like that day keeping me from being able to put my Vibe back there. Yesterday I saw an empty spot right in front of the house and figured it would be safest there, at least if the alarm went off I could get to it without having to run 1/2 block down the street, and I figured it would be less likely to be hit if mostly family was parking there. I jumped up, threw my clothes on, ran to the front of the house only to find the front porch light off and immediately expected the worst, someone was already breaking into my car again! I turned on the light and opened the wood door only to find my sister-in-law walking up the steps. I asked what was going on and she said her husband had "bumped" my car. I thought this meant he "bumped" it with his hand or something to make the alarm go off, but now thinking back, it wouldn't have gone straight into alarm mode anyways, it would triggered the warning first. I walk out to see him looking at my rear bumper and said, (removed)! There wasn't even any cars behind him, there was enough space for another car to park behind him, so I didn't see how he could have hit it. He said he was parked and my s-i-l told him to move it closer to my car, so he 1-foot-in-the-car tried to move it up a little, and apprently lost the location of the brake pedal and it rolled right into my freshly painted bumper! I couldn't believe it, I was so pissed and frustrated I didn't even know what to say and just turned around and walked back in the house to tell my wife. She went out to see what the damage was and said my s-i-l was laughing about when she told her what happened, and my wife mouthed off to her telling her it wasn't funny, at which time she said her husband was in the room crying. For a while after we got to listen to both of them crying in their room. I didn't even know what to say. They apparently were planning to go out and buy stuff for Black Friday, and we left early this morning to do the same and they were still here. We got home and their car hadn't moved an inch. I knew they couldn't pay to get it fixed, and I knew if I reoprted to my/their insurance they would probably get their insurance revoked or it would cost them more than they can afford as they can't even pay their bills now, so I didn't know what to even do. When we got home right now he said he had some money to get it fixed, so looks like tomorrow we will be heading out to get quotes. There are 2 holes where is license plate screws were and the paint is cracked from the impression. Never fails, this car is cursed, it has to be!

Man you just never win...I bet it would be possible to repair that from the outside and repaint. Since the paint is fresh you only need the code and don't need to worry about blending. IMO it looks worse then it actually is.My old room mate backed into my car I bought off him and put the trailer hitch ball through the bumper. This was on my 96 Sunfire GT. We popped the plastic back in place, did body work on the back of the bumper for support and sanded and body worked the front. Looked good as new when done. Only cost a about $400 canadian at the time to fix.Go easy on the guy though... he isn't the only one to inch a car forward with one foot out the door. I bet he feels horrible.

You must feel bummed, I know from experience. My truck was about a year old and someone keyed the entire right side. I had it repainted and drove from the body shop to the dealership for some warranty work. Three hours later I went to pick it up and there was a deep 3 foot long scratch on the same side. The service manager tried to say too bad it didn't happen there. I had him call the body shop and they confirmed I had just picked it up. They painted it again and 9 days later my neighbors daughter hit it with their minivan's mirror and scratched and dented it from the door to the tail light. She didn't even tell me. I measured the height of her mirror and saw blue paint on it and the height was the same as the height of the damage. So it was painted again.

Haven't seen her painted yet and it looks AWESOME!!!Once you get it all fixed a few times it will stop lol.I would normally say it's not his fault so don't get too pissed at him, but the problem with that is there are SOOOOOOO many people that don't think before they do things and even though he didn't mean to do it, he still should have been paying attention and thought a little before he did it. If no one sets these people in their place no one will EVER learn. I feel like buying a hummer and just smashing through all these morons driving on the road and in parking lots just to get the message across. Maybe next time they do something dumb they will be cowering in fear as my H1 barrels at them head on....(removed).Anyways, don't worry about it dude, she looks gorgeous! That's what you get for not having to deal with people driving on snow, ice, and road salt lol.

Were they drunk or something. Looking at the pic, there was plenty of room to park.

Now see, if this were me, I wouldnt care about anyone else but me. I would be vindictive and get the money from them no matter WHAT IT TAKES. Report them to your insurance. Garnish his paycheck, do w/e it takes. Throw them out of your house, if they live with you. Your a strong black woman, like Oprah, don't take **** for wanting whats yours to be great.(o yeah, i know your not really a woman ha ha)

Looks like he didn't get it right the first time and did it twice more till he actually got the bolts to penetrate. I can feel your frustration. I consider myself shy in the luck department also but I try to find a bright side to most things and in this situation, all I can think of is, your bumper's not Blue. Sorry!

Well, just to prove the curse a still in control, this morning I went out to take it to get some quotes and it wouldn't start! Took the battery out and down the street to Autozone and they tested it and said it was no good. So today I got to spend another $200 on a ne Optima Yellow Top!

I still love you If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been able to drive since July because of the seizures I had and I still have another 2 more months to go. In the mean time, my bike quit starting I can't get to the store or dealer to get a battery charger or a new starter (if that's the problem) and I DESPERATELY need to buy stabilizer for the fuel for the winter and wheel jacks to get it off the cold concrete but I can't drive to the store All of us with bad luck must stick together lol!!! We should all get together somewhere and mope and groan with each other.

Bad-Luck Vibes Unite! lol Thanks for the comments guys. Yesterday I got it started, got both compressors working again, now I need to get some quotes, get the rear strut repaired or at least working again if I can't immediately repair it, largely thanks to the battery, get the shark fin antenna finally put on, and about a million other things! This 4-day weekend went by way too fast!

don't know how i missed this, but damn jason, i'm sorry to hear about your luck. like wyatt said, at least your baby is still there.your problems will get better man. i think i've had some pretty bad vehicle luck. here are a couple of my stories:when i lived in phoenix, my s10 was stolen while i was workin at a customer's house (i used it to deliver appliances), so i lost about a grand in some very good tools (recip. saws, grinders, etc.) , plus the appliances i was delivering, which i had to pay for, too. then 6 days later, a lady ran a red light goin north and i ran straight into her goin west. i couldn't work because of my neck, had to break my lease n pay the fine, move outta my apartment and come to cali to go through several months of chiropractor treatment.i've also had a big farm dog decide to climb all over my hood n roof not even a week after spendin 9 hours detailing the paint n just about every crevice between the front n rear bumpers. so you know that paint was toast trust me, you'll be aight big homie, jus keep your head up. at least they're family and they're tryin to do somethin to make it better

I feel your pain, brother. My wife has now banged up our new Magnum R/T 3x's in the span of one year. First, she wasn't paying attention in traffic and in her words "just bumped" a minivan..."bumped" enough to have similiar holes as you as well as crease the fender in the wheel well area. Then 3 months later backed into a parked car. Move ahead a month and add a crack to the right side of the rear bumper when she "rolled" into a drain while parallel parking...But when it comes down to it, it's like my dad always told me, it's just a car. And those words come from one of the biggest car fanatics I know.
