Why would people be lined up at Comp USA?

Figured some techy people may know on here. I drove by Comp USA last night on my way home, around 8-830. There was a line halfway around the building like they were all waiting for a 12am release of something. Anyone have any idea what came out that is in demand?

in and out of comp usa at 9pm opening in 26 mins. that was with finding all the items on the list and getting the heck out. What some people forget is comp usa sells more then just computer stuff. Its like a mini Best Buy in there. We bought some photo keychain things, some memory cards kit things... (yeah I'm real techincal) a computer monitor and some other things. There was already about a 200-300 foot line of people at best buy at that time across the street.

CompUSA opens at 9pm Thanksgiving night.

for the die hard shopper, it gets me a jump start on my holiday shopping before I hit up Walmart and Best Buy.Walmart... (removed)!!! it was a crazy zoo! usually, not too many people, but I got there about 4:30 am and we were probably about 30 or 40 back from the entrance. By 5 am when they opened, there was a good 200+ people in the line! i was disappointed though, no Wii on sale like we were told. oh well... then BestBuy was busy, but not too terrible. we arrived there about 6:30 am. The line went quickly and I got almost all the items on my list. Lots and lots and lots of movies! I did pick up a couple games for the Wii I don't have. LOL oh well.... now i want one! I have almost everyone's Christmas shopping done now, just our customary Family Calendar to finish, and then I'm good to go!

the Wii's are all sold out at pretty much all the stores, however my Best Buy hook up will take a look and if they have one, he's going to hold it for me until mr Mavrik can go and pick it up.

for me in illinois the local Comp USA closed. as for black friday stuff, why would you want to want to impulse buy something at 4am? i find this so stupid. why spend rediculous amounts of $$ on friends and family. i thought this holiday was about "love" and "being together", at least that's what the tv specials say it is about. guess not.

This was in addition to the 5 free by mail. But I can't use it until Santa brings it. I had already bought one at Best Buy last week, but that one went back promptly after I picked one up at WalMart. I also got a Wii for $79 on Thursday. I couldn't pass up the deal, so the 7 y.o. will be getting PS3 from Santa and a Wii for his birthday in January.I won't be using them at all of course...

For $79? From where? Somebody selling them out of the trunk of their car? That's an awesome deal.

yep a few of my buddies did that today. not a bad deal, i've been looking at prices for the HD DVD's and they are hella expensive! but i picked up 2 of the Walmart Toshiba A2 HD DVD players for $99 and sent off for my 5 (each) free HD DVD's (by mail). one for work and one for home.

I pulled into the parking lot at 8:05 (went on sale at 8:00), and they were out. I guess they only had 10 at the location I went to. I'm hoping someone will have them at that price point again before Christmas. If not, I'm in no rush...

I went to this outlet mall in Ohio. they didnt have many good deals but I did get some clothes for my boyfriend. Went to Wal-mart and got 8 or 9 DVD's for him too (at 3.00 i couldnt pass them up!) Then we went to the mall in richmond and got a jacket for my grandma and a jacket for my mom and some more clothes for the boy.A woman in Meijer got arrested for getting in a physical fight over a TV... what an idiot. I'm sure it wasnt that good of a deal. At least there was one more crazy person off the streets that day.

ya this outlet mall opened at midnight, they had 2,000 gift bags that people waited in line for who knows how long for. There were 50 dollar gift cards in like 11 of them and a 500 dollar gift card in one of them. It was freezing cold and snowing. We got there an hour early and the line was like 3 blocks long. (the mall is set up similar to town blocks) It was fun, but i dunno that its worth it, not to me anyway. I enjoy getting stuff the night before. I'm a total procrastinator.
