Got our first snow flurries today. I'm curious to see how my new tires will do in the snow this winter. Has anyone else seen snow yet?

Had a good layer of snow on a nasty layer of ice when i went to work yesterday. It's gone now, but I've re-evaluated my position on buying winter tires this year.On a similar note, I get to re-install my ski racks in less than a week! Whoo! BC, what did you get for new tires?

I ended up getting a set Bridgestone Turanza LS-V all-season on clearance for $240 mounted and balanced. Not the best tire but couldn't pass it up for the cost.

Don't be too happy for the snow to come.Half way through winter everyone will complain, winter lasts too long.We haven't got snow yet,but we are in the minus in the mornings now,my battery is on it's way out so the slow cranks drive me nuts.

We are supposed to get a rain/snow mix later this week. I want just one good snowfall(6"-12") to test my new Pirelli's, then it can stop for the rest of winter.

Not I. The only thing I don't like about winter is driver's get dumber, and scraping the windows. I park inside at home, so I usually only have to worry about one of those

evenings are supposed to drop down to the low 30s this week, maybe even upper 20s on wed. there's a chance of a light drizzle or flurry tonite. woohoo.

If it goes below that it starts getting too cold. This one time at band camp...we went skiing at Lutsen Mountain, north of Duluth, when it was -30°F actual temp and windchills on the Mountain were -100°F. So they closed the mountain and we drank instead. Now that's cold!! We ski'd the next day when it was only -20°F and froze our eyeballs. lol.

yeah, we've seen snow. It had 6" on it by the time it stopped that morning. 26 degrees that day...coldest spot in the US, I have no idea what it was with wind chill. Definitely below zero.

Steelies? With custom rims, why didn't you keep the oem's for your winter tires?

I remember living right off Lake Erie in Ohio, lake effect snow would begin either mid october or now. In CT, we used to get snow right now, it is definitely getting close. Temps are now barely ablet o break 50's and at night it drops below 40. So hopefully soon I will get the white stuff, and be able to play with my AWD.

So I guess I'm officially ready for snow.

I saw the same snow that Brian did--I was in the Twin Cities on Monday, and we saw a few very light flurries. Whee! Wait--maybe not. I have to clean my own driveway now so snow isn't as much fun as it used to be. But the first one is always awesome!

As much as I hate the Utah beer, there are other factors about this state that make it worth while. Since this is all about snow I felt this needed to be on here. This weekend, I get the privilege of going snowboarding, mountain biking and golfing. The first ski resort is opening up and I can't wait to get up there. Where else can you do those three activities with only a 1 hour drive.

30' and sunny right now in buffalo... and the ground is dry.. we have nothing.. repeat nothing. I got all new snowboard gear and we have no snow... d e p r e s s i n g...on another note, my vibe understeers super bad in snow, even if i yank the ebrake it doesnt want to let the (removed) end kick out.. is it my tires or is this something specific to the vibe? I used to drift my little mazda around all over town.((and by drift i mean pull the ebrake in the snow unless i am in the supra, then all it takes is a little more gas and the rear end kicks right out <3 ))

Something you CAN do right now is get 2 plastic trays from your favorite fast food joint, put them in front of the back tires, roll onto them and lock the Ebrake and LET THE FUN BEGIN...!!!!
