just curious to what everyone runs(if you run winters) im looking to buy winters before the snow starts but not sure what to run, im looking at the Michelin X-ice or the Yokohamas again, but was at tirerack.com and they had a few others i was interested in, such as the bridgetone blizzak REVO 1 or the Pirelli winter carving edge

I love my Toyo's in the winter. Ice, snow, they work great. I can make it up to the ski resort in almost any weather with these tires.

I have cheap Winterforce tires from TireRack and they do me really well, there cheap and decent.. they aren't a Blizzak, but they don't cost like a Blizzak... The Blizzaks in general are some of the BEST snow tires i've ever owned, they just wear really quick on dry pavement and handle like playdough ..

i picked up some steel rims from a toyota dealership a few weeks ago...now i'm shopping around for tires too.Costco will get you the X-Ice installed total (after tax) at about $580 (after $50 instant rebate)Tire Co will do it for $688 after tax...then give you the mail in $50 rebate).Haven't looked at Cdn Tire yet....My friend loved his first set of X-ICE so well, he just bought his replacements (he keeps his snows on year round....lazy!)

Goodyear Nordics from Cdn Tire. Say what you will, but I had them on my old Buick, and I bought them again for my Vibe. For $100 a piece, you can't go wrong. I was very impressed with the traction.

My last set of snows cost me like 260 shipped + install... And your friend is a FOOL for leaving snow tires on year round, not only does it KILL a snow tire to be driven on hot pavement, but it's down right dangerous... because they are so soft...

Green Diamond on the Vibe. Michelin X-Ice on the Saturn.Blizzak on the Forester. All seem to work well for what we've encountered in Ottawa the last two winters. I especially like the Green Diamond on the Vibe which I got from NY. The X-Ice and Blizzaks were ordered on rims, mounted and balanced from Tire Rack.

I had my Dunlop M4 3Ds installed this morning in a raging snow storm, my friend owns the garage so he fit me in ahead of the hords of screaming masses pounding on his door. The 15 mile drive up there on semi-bald Nokians was stressful but the drive back was fun. I made it up the big hills past the ski resort without spinning even though the roads were not plowed yet. We got about 8-10 inches of snow today and it's still coming down.
