Has anybody used the GM ski rack with a sharkfin? I want to get one, as the stock antenna prevents skis from sitting there properly, but if the sharkfin won't be any better, I won't bother.

I don't have a ski rack on my vibe, however I do have the cross bars that the ski rack would mount too. The lower half of the cross bars do hit the sharkfin. But the top of the cross bars clear the sharkfin. I will post photos to show what I am talking about, but I don't think mounting a ski rack to the cross bars would be a clearance issue.

You could contact Polo708 on the 9thgen web page. He is the person who ran the group buy. He might have a better contact for you and get things moved along faster. They were going to do a round 2 for the antenna's but it never came about. The thread on MO:http://matrixowners.com/index....k+finsecond group buy on 9thgen:http://www.9thgencorolla.com/f...=polo

That'll definitely work. Thanks. Except now if I get that it's one less lift ticket to worry about

I don't have the GM ski rack, but it is just a GM branded version of the Thule or Yakima ski rack and my skis and boards seem to fit fine, even with the stock antenna.

Mine fit, I just have to lift the skis over the antenna if I'm putting in more than 2 pairs. Which, when you're vertically challenged, is kind of a pain.

Does the GM ski rack clip on without having to take the roof caps off and inserting them from the back of the vibe?

Yes. The utility bars have sort of a 'c-clamp' to hold them on to the rails, and the ski rack has a bracket that goes on over the utility bar. Better yet, why don't I explain it with a pic... (NOTE: Mine's a bit different from stock, as I snapped one of the brackets last winter. Right from the factory, you won't have that bolt on the bottom. Which reminds me, I still need to paint that black... Are you thinking of getting one?
