Is it possible ?

I have been battling with my exhaust for a few weeks now. Is there a quite high flow muffler out there ? I have tried Magnaflow Dynamax super turbo and a turbo muffle. They are all way to load. I was thinking of getting one of those twin loop mufflers. Guys I know some one has figured out a good set up. Thanks Dominic

If you find the Magnaflow too loud, then you are probably out of luck. They don't get much quieter than that. A Flowmaster 60 or 70 series might be quieter but most likely they don't make one that will fit. I have a 70 series on my GMC truck and it's very quiet until you put the pedal down and then it comes to life.

Why don't you just get the catback exhaust system? It's pretty darn quiet.

I all ready have a magnaflow resonator under the car its the rear muffler that I am trying to figure out. This is on a full header back 2.5 custom exhaust with a high flow cat and resonator.

How many catalytic converters do you have? Lancer said that by just removing one, the sound will increase dramatically. So if you only have one then I'd think about getting another, or getting another resonator and have a dual setup.

As I posted on MO:Try dumping your resonator and replace it with a Flowmaster Hushpower II Inline Muffler (18" long).I had a ton of interior resonance before doing this. Now, there is very little interior resonance and theoverall sound is quieter.I'm running:AWD Header w/Hollowed Out PrecatCustom 2.25" DownpipeCustom 2.25" ExhaustMagnaflow High Flow CatFlowmaster Hushpower II Muffler (18" long)2.5" Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler (20" long)It is very quiet at idle and cruising. Gets noticeably louder during acceleration but still has a good tone. This will be about as quiet and free flowing as you will get. Beyond that you'll have to get some FatMatand sound proof the floor, cargo area and doors of your car or go back to an oem type muffler.

Good call Brian I am looking at other options as well. There is a new muffler that Magnaflow has come out with that has the in and the out on the same side. I will keep you guys up to date on the new exhaust....

I did this same Hushpower II replacement of the resonators but with a Flowmaster series 80 Dual out muffler with custom 2.5" pipes and I have to agree, it's much quieter than the Magnaflo resonator I had before. Even quieter than the dual resonators I had, that is until I do a hard accelerate. The sound is kept more outside the vehicle with this combo there with the resonators, it was very noticeable inside. It should be a 30 minute install at any reputable exhaust shop.Dave

Best exhaust I ever had was the Apexi World Sport II. Quiet, and sounded clean, no rhasp, whine, kazoo. At higher RPMs it sounded pretty mean with a nice low tone. I had random people asking me about it. It also looked stock as the tip was rolled and it fit in the cutout very nicely. Of course this was for my Civic.

Well it has been done a High flow quite 2.5 exhaust. I will try to get pictures up soon. Its a work of freaking art. Its the High flow cat in to a Magnaflow resonator into a Magnaflow same side muffler that 90's into a Dynomax super turbo muffler.
