Hi,Last year I have bought nordfrost 3 but I had the choice between the 3 and 5. From what the dealer has explained the 5 is more a tire for high speed on highway. As my needs were more oriented toward a snow and ice tire I have bought the 3. And the vibe is not a vehicule for speeding No regrets. Good tire and very good price comparated to michelin or nokian. But I have also downsized the tire to a 15" wheelCarpediem

They're a division of Continental and are sold worldwide. They are very popular on Volvo's.http://www.canadiandriver.com/...5.htm

if their web site is any indication of how their tires perform... it doesn't sit too well with me.

I just bought continental viking snow tires, consumer reports rated them 2nd best, even though the 1st ones (x-ice, mich) had a poorer rating. They were pretty cheap and had good tread life too ( i drive a ton for work) I havent put them on yet but the tread looks purdy

You said that the Michelin had a poorer rating but from what I readed in CU, it's all dependent of what you expect from a snow tire. The viking is better on dry and wet pavement but the Michelin is much better on the aspects of snow traction and ice braking. Exactly why I buy a snow tire. Carpediem

yep it's all about traction on ice and snow..shouldnt worry to much on wet/dry pavement

Carpediemwell..yeah but the dots werent red where the vikings were and the viking had more white/red ones. although it was semi confusing on their rating system... I drive a ton so the highways will be less snow covered...hence my purchase, but like sublime was telling me any snow tire will be better than stock.
