I had two at the begining of the day. I'm now down to one. Longish story I won't bore you. Called the dealer and it's $62 for the part and $45 for the programming. Hmmmmm Anyone know of a better way?

You can add a remote easily, see attached image.They're probably on eBay or you can just get one from the dealer. No special anything needed to program, just make some bizarre gyrations and you're done.

Programming is a snap, similar to all cars, you have to do a little dance with key in the run position, finger on the lock/unlock, turn car on, then off, press lock, turn car on press unlock. Maybe not that exaggerated but I used to have to program keys all the time for Acura, as they only gave you one key already set, the master, and when you went to program the second, it was a 5 sec job.

With the Vibe, you have to spin on your head while doing a dance to program the remote. It takes about 2-3 minutes - no lie.I can hook you up with an extra, but I'd charge more than E-Bay. Throw out an offer, and maybe I'll bite. I have an extra, thati haven't used in 4 years.

When I got mine off ebay they sent the Toyota version. At 1st I was mad, but then I realized that I get the panic button on the Toyota remote and it comes in handy when you can't find your car in the parking lot . Programming worked on the second try (the 1st try was without batteries). Quick, easy, and less than $20 with shipping!
