Highway power: Solved!

I just completed my second road trip. 1006.5 miles PA-IN and back. Lots of cops, no tickets. I complained about lack of power after my first road trip, but adding a TRD exhaust has pretty much fixed things. I could accelerate in 6th gear on a grade which I couldn't do before. I had no problem crossing the Alleghanies iin 6th gear and only downshifted if I wanted to accelerate faster. Now the down side - the TRD exhaust seems to get loudest at 3500 rpm, which equals 80 mph! What sounds great during my morning commute on winding back roads got really annoying after about 15 minutes. The solution was to change speed + or - 5 mph. (Of course, slowing down wasn't an option! ). The worst part, was the exhaust tone would develop an awful resonance with the tunes I was listening to. It sounded like a twin engine commuter plane on takeoff with unsynchronized propellers: uuuhwow uuuhwow uhwow uhwow uhwowowowowow uhwow uuuuuhwow. I'm thrilled with the exhaust for my commute, but if my main gig were road trips, I'd be taking it back off.

I'd like to...but I'm just not well versed enough in this stuff to do my own mods. I always wished I could do stuff to my car. But hell, upgrading the horns and headlights was "one giant leap for ragingfish-kind!"

yeah raging actually most basic mods are easy.most people just dont realize it. all you need are the PROPER tools for the job ,patience, and either a good memory or notepad cause most of the time its taking something off and replacing it in reverse order. i forget what kind but make sure you get some lubrication on those exhaust hangers. helps a bunch

Not just with cars, but with many areas of life. I work in computers, and from time to time somebody will trash a system - its always "Ok, WHAT EXACTLY did you do? Put it BACK the way you found it!"
