WASHINGTON (AP) - The government is investigating complaints that the front power windows on the driver and passenger sides of some Pontiac Vibes shattered as they were being raised or lowered. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a posting on its Web site Monday that it had received 15 complaints about window shattering on 2003-2004 Vibes.Another three complainants said they heard a popping or cracking noise and were concerned the window may shatter, but they did not.NHTSA said the issue could affect more than 120,000 vehicles.General Motors Corp. spokesman Alan Adler said the automaker was cooperating with the investigation.Three consumers who complained said they sustained injuries while cleaning the glass debris out of the front seats.

Wow, that's excellent. Good job to all those who took the time to send a complaint about this issue and I hope it brings about a resolution.

I expect it could happen to any year, unless they changed the design at some point, but since they are just now looking at it, then I'd expect it to be "possible" for all built so far. (with power windows)some related threads to not lose track of:

Cool, I'm glad folks may find some resolution here, we've needed it for some time... I had my car in the shop every week for a month straight trying to fix the binding/popping/snapping windows and they couldn't fix it so I gave up. It was frustrating and scary at the same time, you never know if you should use that window or not when they're making those noises. Hopefully they find the fix and recall all of those affected. Bummer that GM has to take all the blame and it isn't even their parts though, but that's what happens when you rebadge.
