Hi everyone, I'm new here, so I hope I am posting in the right topic. O.o Anyways, I got a 2005 Pontiac Vibe. I like it, but I am 16 and only have my permit. Funny ehh? I got my car but no license. Oh well, I will be driving it in January. So umm, Its fusion, and its got a sun roof XD . But ya, no GT. But those are the key features. So umm, I want to do a few things to it. I want to find a way to get my MP3 Player (not an Ipod) To my car. I really dont want to use a FM transmitter, but if it comes down to it. I will. My dad said I can't get a new face plate. But its my car. Sooo any suggestions? I hope you guys can help me out on that one. Also I kind of want new rims on it XD nice shinny chrome ones. Or black ones would look cool, but I think chrome would look better. Well I hope you guys like me XD. I'm going out to clean it now and then picture time! Oh, and my name is Kevin, hi!

Welcome to Genvibe, eh!First off what is XD?Guessing from you saying you have a sunroof, then you have the monns and tune package. As far as the MP3 player. I used an Aux box with harness to use my MP3 player. You just splice into the existing harness for the radio and plug in your player. You use the aux button on the OEM radio to use the player.

Oh haha, XD is just a face like

the X is the eyes and D is the smiley. But I don't have moon and tunes package. At least I don't think so. I was thinking about getting a new face plate. But how would I know if I have moon and tunes? I found thishttp://sonicelectronix.com/ite....html#What do you think?

I'm not sure, but if you have the moons and tunes package, the stock head unit would probably be better than those. I guess the only reason to do that would be if you want to change the look.

Oh snap. I got moon & Tunes. Haha, never knew that. ^^ anyways. So how am I supposed to hook my mp3 player up to the car? And will buying a new faceplate screw the audio system up?

You can buy a whole new head unit, but the harness is gonna cost you b/c of the amp that is already in the car. The best thing to do for using the MP3 player is keeping the stock radio and getting an aux-box and harness from PAC audio. Here is a link-

O SNAP...well if all the vibe owners in my area were in to modding i would hang out with them too... most if not all are 30-70 years old and usually haven't washed the car since it rolled off the lot.O wait..... I fall in to the category. But, a least I have washed my vibe... heck I am doing a tire rotation and oil change tomorrow... feel free to stop by and help, heck if you help I might drop her and hollow out my pre-cat. LOL

Wow, I can't believe the amount of responses I am getting in such a short amount of time. Ok, So I am on the verge of getting the P.I.E GM 12-AUXV2 but can someone please post pictures of how they situated the device and where they are hiding the box and where the cables come out of? Also I got my vibe from... umm... Alexander in Bloomsburg. I live in Drums, which is close to Hazleton... and if you don't know where Hazleton is, its like 30 minutes (?) away from Wilkesbarre. =]

for the some background info on aux devices check out the first thread below and the 2nd one is a how to install guide for one of the units, it is very easy. there maybe an install guide for the PIE itself on here somewhere but i was having issues with search and not looking for words with less than 4 letters.

That is a good tutorial. Thank you. I'm kind of afraid to screw up though -.- It probably is easier than it looks though, like most things in life.
