Hidden power source question????

Post by meathead333 »

I had a 2000 Grand Prix before I got my Vibe. In that car i could plug in my cell phone and charge it when the car was not running. In the Vibe, the charger only works when the car is on. Is there a way to adjust this, or is that just an option the vibe doesnt have?? Anyone out there know??

I haven't used my 12v. socket yet, but on most Japanese cars the socket is wired to "ignition" rather than "battery" power. I have re-wired a couple by tracing the + wire back and switching it to a connector at the fuse box that is always powered. Not too difficult, but will take a little detective work.
