I spent most of the day yesterday installing Dynamat Extreme door kits on both front doors (along with new Blaupunkt components). Man, what a difference!! There's much less road noise and all of my annoying door vibrations are gone. The install was easy, although I had to rip off some worthless foam on the back of the door panel which fit into a hole I covered with Dynamat. I know the new woofers would have been a nice improvement over stock anyways, but the bass is so tight and clean with with Dynamat install, too Now the only problem is that the new woofers are putting out enough bass that there's an annoying vibration right by my head where the weatherstripping contacts the door frame. I think I'm going to glue a piece of fabric there or something...but you know I wouldn't be able to hear it if all the other noises hadn't been silenced!

Looking up some old posts here and found this one...John, the dynatmat install took me about two hours. I would suggest wearing leather gloves if you use the dynamat with the aluminum coating as it tends to make lots of little cuts on your fingertips. I didn't use a roller, I don't think that's necessary. Cost was about $50.

After I had the weatherstripping replaced in my 2004 Vibe I had some noise from it rubbing that sounded almost like a rattle. It was minor but yet annoying. I found that there is a special weatherstrip lube but the dealer did not have any and it was rather expensive. I instead wiped both the door weatherstripping and the body weatherstripping with Armor All Protective Wipes and it eliminated the noise. It came back about three months later and disappeared with another wipe with the Armor All. You might want to try this. Good luck.

I've been thinking of doing this, but I'm not sure if I would want to start with the doors or the rest of the car first....

If you want to lubricate your seals, use silicone lubricant.

i dislike armour all for any rubber, it dries out to fast, i was told never use the stuff on any rubber, even tires or interior dash and vinyl wrapped parts

Very cool man... One thing to consider though, dynamat take a LOT of heat to get it to stick properly and you MUST clean the area first with rags and a solvent of your choise... Honestly, being a former installer, it wouldn't suprise me id the dynamat you just installed came off on a hot day... I'm not trying to bring you down or anything, but there are things that people DON'T know about the product, because it's so highly touted buy the masses... Very much like FRAM filters... I would put a fram on an enemies car if you payed me to do it... same difference..

Armor all eats away at rubber? It hasn't for me. Its sold and used widely and has been for years. It is specifically sold for platic and rubber use. I have used it for 20 years on various cars with no ill effects. Of course whatever works for anyone else is fine......personally I think its wonderful since it elimnates the squeak/rattle from the molding and is quick and cheap to apply.

I did clean everything with acetone before I applied. If it starts to bubble, I'll go back and use a heat gun and roller to get it down really well.
