Had a little boo boo yesturday trying to park my vibe. This Concrete post jumped out and grabbed me as i was trying to back into a parking space at my apartment.Damage includes: a chunk out of the driverside sideview mirror housing and put some nice scratches in the drivers door. My ego got a bit bruised. but overall pretty minor damage.will try and get pics soon...I hope my ego heals soon.

depending on where you got the estimate, my guess is $1,500 from the dealer, and $950 from a regular shop. am i close??yeah that is a nasty boo boo. i always watch my side mirrors to make sure that doesn't happen. i had a really really bad boo boo in my first car when i was 17. i bent the driver's door the opposite way almost far enough to touch my front fender. my door wasn't closed all the way, and i was backing up in an alley and i thought i'd be ok. looks like i was wrong. the bottom corner of the door got caught on a support cable for an electric pole. after that, i watched my mirrors like a predator watches it's prey. oh well, ya live n ya learn right??

Ouch! Sorry about your boo boo and ego. Did that with my Grand Am once...it was only a little dented and the dealer body shop offered to fix it for $100. Looked like new, but it was the same mirror. (scratches head) Parked next to me is a behemoth truck. So I go waaaaaaaaaay close to the pole instead of the truck. I work 12 hour days and add 2 more for drive time, so some nights when I get home it's a wonder I can even park at all. I'd rather hit the pole than hit the behemoth any day. My guess is $700 for the part, $300 for labor

I will venture a guess of $500 from the dealer because they are going to have to match the paint on the door with the fender and rear door.Oh and while you car is in teh shop, and they have to buy paint anyways, why not ask them how much it would be to spray your mirrors the same color as the body. Body colored mirrors FTW!!!

It was in the $700 range for everything. The Vibe just went in for Surgery this morning. Should be all better later this week. Got a PT Cruiser for a rental. (PT Looser as I call them). Not bad its just they have a weird odor to them.

Good luck with the repairs! My side-view mirror exploded a few months ago cause i got like 1mm too close to the side of the garage. Blew up into about 500 pieces but the mirror itself didn't get damaged cause it landed on my seat next to me (removed)...I don't need anymore bad luck.

got my Vibe back today!! They did a great job!!However they tried to copy the ALL WHEEL DRIVE decal and didnt do a good job and it wouldnt match the other side so they removed their attempt. THey didnt have a black reflective vinyl. they tried a black metallic and it just looked wrong. So I just ordered a replacement from Ryan.Best part was they gave me a credit so I'm not out anything to order it. yea!!!
