Has anybody mounted 235 40 18's on their vibe's? I can get a great deal on 235's but every post that I see with 18's are going with 225 40 18's... I did some calculations and the actual diameter of the tire with a 235 40 18 is closer to stock than 225 40 18's.(stock being 215 50 17)

Welcome to GenVibe...!!!Well with a 1cm difference, it can't be that bad. 5mm per side of the tire and being that the aspect ratio (sidewall height, derived by using 40% of 225/235) changes very little also... I personally don't see much wrong...They would be 18x8" right?? If they were going on a 7" wide wheel, i would be concerned, as you would be "crowning" the tire, putting such a wide tire on a narrow wheel....

That is cool, those wheels do look really nice... i'm more of a black wheel guy and those would look killer black... anyhow....I may have some lowering springs for you... Some Tien S-techs, that i bought and MAY not put them on... I got a deal, so i would pass the deal on...

Those look like American racing casinos. I have the same rims but black.

Did you put those center caps on. I think I have to do that. They look good.

By the way, I think that is the tire size I'm running as well. I'll double check tonight. No problems with rubbing or anything.

Oh, I'm running on 235/45 ZR17's. They really fill the wheel wells.

Quote, originally posted by Kamikaze »Thanks Brian,It will probably be a while before I get to use them... I like the snow, but, this is one of the biggest reasons why I hate the snow. I can't roll on the 18's, and I can't ride the bike...I'm still trying to decide if I drop the car or leave it... I really didn't want to go through with lowering springs cause the ride is harsher, and I know how lowered cars are in the snow... (and I really don't want to mess with changing back to stock in the winter...)I like how the cars look when lowered, the wheel well gap.. oh man, sooo much better...Man, don't tell me you are rolling 18" wheels with summer tires in the SNOW.... BAD BAD MOJO man....
