My rear hatch pontiac logo has faded from sunlight so now it is a pink color instead of red. I was going to remove it, I think it will look better personaly, however, I wanted to know if there are locating tabs or holes on the body itself.

No tabs. The pontiac symbol and vibes logos are all held on with double sided tape.To give you an ideal, this is what it looks like with both of them off.

Just thinking about it. If you do not want to remove the emblem, than you could always just get an overlay for it.

If you do decide to take it off use a heat gun, if you don't have one a blow dryer can be used in a pinch (takes a little longer is all). Heat the area evenly to loosen up the two sided tape. You might have to use something to help pry the emblem loose, make sure it's plastic so you don't tear up your paint. Then you can use Bug & Tar remover to clean off any adhesive that may get left behind. It's not hard to do.

You dont even need a heat gun. You can pull them right off with your hand. There will be some leftover double sided tape once you get them off. But you can use your finger and roll it off. Goo-gone is the best thing to usae to get any small leftover tackiness.

C'mon man, everybody's doin' it.(peer pressure ) I used the floss to "saw" off the letters after I heated them up. The floss would break occasionally, but overall it worked out really well.

Just take your hand and grab ahold of that pontiac logo and take it off. Then move onto the vibe logo and take a rubber screw driver and pull that logo off. You should always listen to the wife.

yah you should be able to just pry it off...and then use your finger to rub the leftover rubber like adhesive off...i actually just used dental floss last night to take the rear hatch "vibe" off...and then just pulled the leftover adhesive off...not a scratch or mark on the hatch from doing so...

I removed all the badging about six weeks ago and i used fishing line. It sure will cut off the circulation in your fingers, but by using a gentle back and forth sawing motion it will slowly cut through the double sided rubber tape. Be very careful, if you are not patient and try to remove the badge before you have completely sawed through it, you can easily scratch the paint by the edge pushing against the body of the car...the key is to take your time and be patient!
