Is their road hazard warranty worth getting? The tires I'm thinking about getting, the road hazard costs $10.80 a tire.Worth it or not?

I think Sam's Club charges about $10 for mounting, balancing AND road hazard coverage.Ever since I won the lottery [not really - just seems like it since all the kids were out of college] I have not kept a car long enough to need tires so I don't know much about where to buy tires these days. Got my Vibe's defective cupped Conti's replaced at 20,000 mi for the cost of installation/balancing so even if I keep that another few years will not have to buy tires.

The road hazard warrentee will cover ANYTHING that happens on the road.. If you get a nail, sure it can be plugged, but, they will send you a new tire, at least that is how they explained.Wait, i ordered from Discount Tire Direct last, they have it to...

to much of a battle to ever get anything taken care of usually under a tire warranty. I never bother with it.

The cost of the insurance is 1/2 the cost of a tire. Too much$ IMO.BTW I only deal with Discount Tire Direct also. Free shipping is good.

I have bought tires from Tire Rack for at least 15 years. Bought sets for several cars I have owned, and still use them to get tires that are harder to find for customer cars. I always use a guy named Dana Farrin, he is way knowledgeable and helpful.I stopped buying tire warranties YEARS ago....never have gotten my money out of them.

Also, FYI, the winter tires that Im going to get (Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3) have a $50.00 mail in rebate so that makes the tires $72.50 before tax and shipping and installation. Sounds like a good deal to me! Might have to go ahead and order them and keep them at the house till I need them in November or late October.
