Heliz or Cosmo SRI

Post by Whelan »

Don't say it, not doing it, I don't want another CAI. Had one with the Civic and got nothing but issues when driving in rain. That said, I'm not sure which to get. I had the Ebay sri that I am shipping out tomorrow to someone. But for me since it was made for the XRS I put the vacuum cap on the extra stem and I still would get engine codes. So I'm nervous about putting another one on.I am not sure if one gives you more gains than the other, if the Heliz has a different sound when installed, or what the story is. So the question, which to get.

I had the Helix and didn't like it at all.It made a weird sound, and I didn't notice any gains.I hated it so much,I gave it away for free So,between the 2,I guess I would have to say the Cosmo.

I have the Helix and I like it a lot. It does not make any wierd sounds with the stock airbox. I have had, and continue to have, low-mid rpm torque gains. I love it so much, I am keeping it! So, between the 2, I guess I would have to say Helix.

It make a slight whistle when releasing the throttle after accelerating when I had a CAI and SRI on. Sounded kinda cool, but nothing wierd. I did also feel torque gains with the CAI and SRI. But I feel more with the stock airbox and the TRD S/C Intake tube.

The TRS S/C intake tube??I feel yours is closer to me Blue cause you have AWD like myself. So a low end gain would be nice to have.Ugh I'm so lost cause the HIDs keep callin my name, but its a stretch on the funds.

The TRD Supercharger intake tube that runse from the stock airbox to down behind the foglight. You will have to find someone with a S/C that is using an aftermarket CAI or SRI and ask them if they will sell it to you. You might have better luck on MO or 9thGen since there are more S/C owners on those sites.

I'll stick with the stock box for now, but if you truly notice those gains I think I am gonna grab one and skip the SRI. Did you get any better mileage off it.

Hey B/C,did that bracket come with the kit.The bracket I got didn't look like that, and I had to drill it to make it fit.Whelan,If you're going to keep the stock air box, then the helix would work out better for you.I'll talk to Dom about the s/c and the helix to see what he says, maybe I should have kept it.

great, now where's the cheapest place to get one other than waiting on here for someone to sell theirs. I'm assuming even though Im the 05 AWD I can use the 03-04 XR 1ZZ one because I have cable and not DBW.

No, I made that bracket from some leftover parts from my previous CAI and SRI's.Quote, originally posted by Whelan »great, now where's the cheapest place to get one other than waiting on here for someone to sell theirs. Better to have go, than show. That's my philosophy. The outside of my Vibe is completely stock, but not underneath the hood.

Yes I am running it on the car with the S/C. I was told it would not change the A/F it should only increase low end torque. This is also with the stock air box. I just barely touch the gas and it pulls away for the light at 5 pounds of boost. I friggin love the S/C.
