How;s the idea of starting up a Vibe Photo of the Month contest sound...basically you'd be allowed to nominate one photo each per month as long as it has one or more Vibes in it....any comments and or suggestions?
Quote, originally posted by Sputnik »This is kind of what Vibe of the Month is. The winners are supposed to provide photos for the write up. no this would be a competition for best "single" photo taken not more than one allowed per user for nomination per month.....vibe of the month in my opinion is more for recognition of incoming new vibes/ genvibe members rides, and individul efforts to personalize vibes and keep them looking fresh, clean, new or whatever you like to call it...lol....VOTM is kind of a "show off" competition...IMHO
it is hard to get people to vote in the VOTM contest. Would another contest confuse the huge majority who never vote, or would it help in some way to get more VOTM votes?
I'm all for it...could be judged by best location...hottest babe in a bikini modeling on it and maybe best photoshop rework like what I did here:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=29727with my Underwater Vibe and Satellite Vibe in orbit.
Or, It maybe something like WotM (Wallpaper of the Month) weather it is voted for or not, I think it would be awesome to have a gallery of Vibe wallpapers for the homepage and place a cut down version as the banner on the homepage and make it click-able to a wallpaper gallery...

we allready have a wallpaper thread.... http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=24275but having a gallery would be neat I think any kind of photoshop contests should be seperate from "normal" photography contests.
I think it's a cool idea... maybe encourage members to take more "creative" or even just MORE pics of theirs/others Vibes. Would be an easy way for members to build up the amount of pics in their garage as well.I agree, I think the Photochop pics should be seperate from the standard photos.I think you know which one I voted for now!

It could just be a photos only thread. I'm not sure member voting is needed. Heck it's hard enough to get enough votes for VOTM or MOTM to make the count meaningful.

i would side with V and some others here, why not add a photo gallery, like a SINGLE BEST PIC OF YOUR VIBE like in many other forums. there is a lot of talent on these boards with photo and editing skills. why not do a showcase of them all?
between VOTM and MOTM, i'd be one to vote against this. too many contests, and as it is participation is waining in voting for the aforementioned two contests. plus, getting someone to take charge of it, and then stick with it, is pushing your luck.i'll shut up with my opinions now.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

Southeast Phoenix Metro Vibe of the Month). Granted that was an extreme example, but I like the simplistic VOTM and MOTM...that'll do...but feel free to keep posting pretty pictures once a month. The other thing that may have influence is some people can no longer see photo bucket pics at work anymore (and other file hosting sites) thanks to the corporate america crackdown. If they can't see it, they may not have time to see them at home to vote...further reducing your voting pool...
