I need to replace several parts on my Vibe, including: LF Fender Liner (88969697) LH Fender Liner bracket ? (88970763) LH Shield (engine splash) (88970716) Retainers (88970767)I think that my car wasn't re-assembled properly after having some bodywork done last October after an accident (can't prove this, but another story). In any event, my liner came loose and got damaged hitting my left front wheel at highway speed. In addition, the left front splash guard has also been damaged.I've temporarily secured them, but need to get this taken care of. I need suggestions on how to go about doing care of this. Should I get new parts or can I find used (salvaged) parts that are reasonable? Can I remove/replace these on my own, or should this be done professionally? Are there other parts/tools I'll need it I do decide to repair myself? (I noted that the splash guard was secured by rivets through a metal bracket to the front fascia.I'll try and post pics of the mess and put 'em here if that will help.

They are just snapped or screwed in. I should be pretty easy to do your self. Ive taken a couple off to do oil changes, TRD cai install and the tranny cooler. These are the liners for the wheel wells and under engine correct? I think they are... :s but yeah if they are fear not they are super easy to get back in. Just buy some from a salvaged vibe if they are in good condition and get the clips and screws and put them in yours!

our terminology might be a little different... but by retainers do you mean the clips that hold the wheel well & shields? I'm not sure about the bracket but I dismanteled most of that stuff when I was taking my cladding & front bumper off. I never was able to take the wheel well liners completely off but I didn't really have to either so I just popped a few clips back in and drove to the shop. There are several clips holding them in some are kinda hard to find, too.... You should be able to do it yourself. Just keep up with all the stuff. pics would help b/c I can't really picture it...

ANO_Vibe: Yep, the retainers are the little pushpins that secure the liner to the chassis. The bracket I'm speaking of is a C-shaped bracket (more squared off) that secured the front edge of the splash guard to the front fascia. Also, I've got the sport fascia, so that might be different from stock.Pictures are definitely in order...

I have the sport package also. You will have to take the retainer that holds that bracket off, mine is held in with one of those push retainers.I have the instructions for the kit hanging around, send me an IM if you want it.

I have made this repair numerous times, strangly just the driverside has been damaged. Each time it has been from hitting ainimals, usually rabbits. For the times that the fender liner contacts the tire and gets a hole worn thru it, I just patch the hole using a cut up oil container and rivot it into place. Most of the fasteners can be beplaced with good ole SAE 1/4 x 20 bolts/nuts. Bracket bends back into shape as easy as it gets bent out of shape.Somewhere on this site has a pic of one of my oil jug fixes.
