Alright Vibers, I need some help with some info and links. I have 2003 AWD base AT.I got my Borla axle back exhaust and went to look under the car to see how the install would go. I ran into a bit of a dilemma. It seems that my exhaust was replaced before and that I have no flange behind the cat. The whole system is welded. So I was thinking about replacing every component in the exhaust system. Here is where all of you come in:What are my header options? I have been searching and can't find any for the vibe. All the sites list the one for the Matrix. I was wondering which ones are compatible.Next is there a high performance replacement cat system that runs from the header to the axle or do I have to get that section custom made. Would there be much difference if i just replaced the cat section with an OEM part.http://www.performancepartswho...&my=1

the catback won't fit the AWD. it has a different exhaust routing completely. the only option for exhaust on an AWD is doing a complete custom job, nobody makes a pre-made one. same thing for headers, gotta be custom.

What he said. Do a return on the exhaust, it specifically states Base Vibe, no-AWD/no-GT.

And also:Matrix XR = Vibe BaseMatrix XR AWD = Vibe Base AWDMatrix XRS = Vibe GTDCSports makes headers for the GT and Base, but not the AWD. You're better off having your exhaust manifold ported. The base exhaust only has a flanged over the rear axle. Everything else is welded up to the exhaust manifold, which is why the instructions state that you must cut the exhaust after the cat.

Any header for the AWD would need to be custom also and will cost you anywhere between $500 & $750 to get made. The AWD Vibe's header is different from the Base or the GT. Our's had a precat inside the header collector that is very restrictive. Our header also take a 90° turn straight down after the runners clear the rear of the engine to avoid the driveshaft of the AWD drivetrain. You will notice hp gains (especially in the mid and upper rpm range) after you have hollowed it out, but it will be louder as well. You will need to get some sort of fuel management system like a Unichip, Camcon or Emanage or you will get a P0420 CEL for low efficiency 02 sensor - bank 1.
