Opinions Please? Bigger Rims and To Sit Higher

I really want bigger tires for my Vibe because it looks really low like a compact car with my 16" wheels. I want it to look more like the Lexus Mini SUV that sit higher. Any recommendations on what I should do to get that look? Correction to my note above: I did mean bigger rims and tires and to sit higher also. Any recommendations?

Well, I think most of us are just the opposite. We want a larger rim with a smaller side wall tire. But if you are interested in installing a bigger tire, you will need to take a couple of things into consideration. You have to make sure that whatever size tire you get, it clears anything in the wheel well. You don't want your tire to rub anything when the steering wheel is fully turned.Another thing you may want to have adjusted if you get bigger tires is the speedometer. A larger tire will not show an accurate speed. Say for instance you go from your stock 205/55-16 to a 205/65-16. When your speedometer reads 60 mph, you will actually be travelling around 64 mph. It may not seem like much, but it could get you a ticket.

I think what Latina GT want is to have the car actually sit higher. bigger tires will do very little to add height, and it will definetely rub. what Latina GT want is to add height, so that will require a longer spring.

To add to the longer spring tip, larger diameter tires will also reduce your torque you can put to the pavement and lower your gas mileage, possibly by a considerable amount. (torque = force * distance the farther away the road is from the drive shaft, the lower the torque produced)I sit a bit higher than compact cars and I think the Vibe has 8.1" of clearance already, is that correct?Anyway, I agree with longer springs or a lift kit if you want height.
