Auto Dimming Review Mirros?

Hi, I'm getting a '07 vibe next week, it's got the sunroof, and I was considering adding an auto-dimming review mirror to it. Anyone have any info about that? Brand suggestions, problems I should be aware of? Thanks.

Congrats on the new ride... an auto dimming mirror is a very good MOD. It's very easy to install two wires. Ground and Power lead. you may have to drive around in circles if you get one with compas till it calabrates the compas. Ragingfish helped install it with me.

Thanks for the info. Doesn't sound like it's too hard to install either, which is always good news.

I bought mine on Ebay from this seller- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVWI've had it almost a year and it works great. There's a little work involved if you want to wire in the temp and UV sensors, but they're optional, the mirror will work fine with just power and ground connected.

Stick with Gentex. I've had multiple and they never fail.

Can't go wrong with a gentex, as raging was hinting at above. I belive the one I bought from him was of that brand, I loved that thing. It was just the basic one too, no fancy lights or displays, just mirror. I let it go with the car since it wouldn't mount in the Hyundai. But it turns out flipping the thingy on the mirror really isn't that bad. Get one, you'll enjoy it.

You could always save your money and simply reach up and flip the lever.... Next thing you know, people are gonna want the "Auto-(removed)-wiper"

Heh heh. Sure you can flip the thingy but I find that totally useless. Can't see a thing in it when it's flipped.Besides, who doesn't want 3 garage door openers attached to the car's battery so you can easily open those needed doors when ever you need without separate remotes on your visor?Ok, so what do people know about installing them? Pop off the sun visors, run the wire along the roof to the a pillar, down the a pillar, and then to the fuse box? Is it that simple? And how does one remove the a pillar? Thanks

Just grab the 'A' pillar trim and pull. That's the only thing to remove. Just take the wiring and tuck it under the headliner, no need to remove the sun visors or anything. Connect to the fuse block using an Add-A-Circuit fuse thingy, ground the ground wire to the bolt for the driver's kick panel. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=7735
