They need to go retro since the first GTO re-design was a flop IMO. Also this needs to become available in the canadian market.

nope no photo. but gm teamed with Holden in AUS to do the zeta platform for the holden monaro, camaro and this gto so they should be about the same car with different looks...so expect the same engine specs from teh camaro.

According to a magazine article that I read (Super Chevy I think) The Monte Carlo, Camaro, Impala, and the GTO were suppose to be all falling under the Zeta platform. At least the Monte Carlo and the Impala platform have been pushed back at least a year. I think that this applies to the GTO as well.

yeah gm's rwd platform...not doing so well...some pontiacs got canceled or pushed back too..

suposidly the Monte Carlo was axed, the Impala platform was pushed back the Camaro and G8 are still a go, and the GTO who knows what.

A true discrace to one of the finest muscle cars ever built in the day my first car was a 70 GTO, and not that the new later model ones were not a sound vehicle but people are all about the image and the total package not a grand am look alike with a v8, thus the sales figures showed it plus the only option you got was a stick shift for 32k may be alittle to late for the reserction of this use to be super car!

The G8 is awesome, we saw one at the NY auto show. It's going to be a slick ride once it finally arrives.

http://www.motortrend.com/futu..._gto/Gonna be built under the new zeta platform, but still designed developed by Holden. It'll have a 6.0-liter, 400-horse LS2. I hope it'll look better in person. Looks a lot like the new G8.

I have not heard anything about a retro looking GTO...I think GM will see how the Camaro goes first since it is more retro and then decide on GTO.

I hope that if GM does bring back the GTO, it lasts alot longer than the one a couple years ago...

I don't know... I'd rather have a car engineered for speed rather then one that was moded for speed, I've been in a goat at 145mph... and I'll tell ya, that is one solid car, would you feel safe in your Subaru doing that? IMHO... stock for stock, mod for mod, the GTO would come out on top, and so it's the winner.Quote, originally posted by Sublimewind »2.0L of furrymay the furry bunnies be with you and your 2.0L BTW: VforVIBE called, she wants her saying back.
