Hey,I'm thinking about replacing my Pre-Cat and just eliminating the second one. I shouldn't get a CEL with that, right? One O2 sensor is in the header and the other is after the Pre-Cat so it should be fine, correct?

i think bluecrush did something similar.... of course there should be some other people that did some custom exhaust that will post up though!

I hollowed out my precat, which is built into the AWD header. I then replaced my second oem cat with a Magnaflow high flow cat. I kept getting the P0420 CEL code until I installed the Camcon and roughly tuned the A/F.

Less Meowing, and more power, better gas mileage, etc.

actually i've seen tests where a high flow cat only added about 1hp over stock

A horse is a horse. You'd probably see a better result with the fuel mileage. My Vibe was one of the first sets made and I'm guessing the Cat was never replaced under that TSB. So I kinda wanna get it taken care of.

is it possible to pull out the dual cat we have and just put in a single stage cat? would there be any benefit? sometimes if i'm driving for more than 45 minutes around the car is really warm and sometimes has an egg/fart smell.

If you're under 80k miles then bring it in under the TSB and they'll replace your ECU and catalytic converters for free.
