I was just looking at the JL Audio website and the first thing i see is a Monotone Satellite Vibe GT on the front page and the new 2003 Show car for JL. they got that thing hookt up. http://www.jlaudio.com/ yogi

Nice! So now that they've seen what interest a Vibe draws I wonder if they'll start making stuff to fit it. I'd love to see a JL Stealthbox out for the Vibe.

havent installed yet but plan oni know the W7's are crazy expensive, but i had a friend put one in his Extreme Blazer, and it blew almost every twin 12 system i have ever heard out of the water and it was soo soo clean.yogi

I have no doubt on what your saying.But for a speaker who can handle 1000W RMS, what kind of amp. are you planning to put with????JL Audio power amp. are as expensive as the speakers, but like the speakers, the sound quality is totally crazy.

i got a reply for the sound system, its estimated around $2,000, and he gave me the numbers of recommended components, but i dont have them written down now. And after finding out how much our alternators suck im not sure im gonna go with the W7, might just kick some 10" W0's. yogi

Running even only 1 W7 wide open will be very very hard on the alternator. 1000W means about 83 amps only for the sub. The Vibe has a 80 amp. alternator, so it is not puwerfull enough to drive only 1 W7 alone, without any other load.I have 1 12w0 in my Vibe with a JBL 180.2 power amp. bridgeed to deliver 360W @ 4 ohms. It sound great and do not take too many space. I know my sound system is by far not ready for competition but for me, it is enough and I don't nead anything more.

If you are serious about running a w7 or any high powered sound system there are some options you can get a second battery to power it, or get a fared system that will store power to run your system-

He added a 10 weels battery between the front seat to feed his 4 amps!!!Totally crazy guy!

I've only used JL subs and I have never had an issue. My last install was 2 12w3's in the back of my S-10. I'm thinking about doing something similar in my Vibe, though I would hate to give up the room.

those amps are out of this world lookin, pretty cool, but not very practical for me. good to see the vibe is getting some good press.

My suggestion would be to consider one of our PowerWedge enclosureswhich would give you the added option of using multiple drivers. As you cansee on our website, we used a CS210R-W0 with great success. With somecreative bracketry, this enclosure could be made to attach to the existingt-rails on the floor, giving you the option of removing the enclosure easilyif the cargo space is needed. i went and got an estimate on the exact system that JL put into their competition vibe GT without the fiberglass arms for the amps, and it was around $1800usd installed. Considering the guy at the store was like this system when installed will prolly be one of the best sounding systems inside the car i have installed, i figured it would be money well worth it. So, i figure in September when my student loans come through i will prolly get the system installed with the exact components and amps, and placement as the show Vibe GT. Should be pretty nice when its all put in.yogi

student loans are just long waiting period for payback locked interest loans that we use for debt consolitation. most every college student gets em anyway, so i figure i will sink further into debt so maybe i can buy my own bread by the time im 30.oh and im a dual major in Ocean and Civil Engineering.typical starting salary around $65k a year.yogi
