That Will Buff out… Right?

Well, there's got to be a first time for everything, my first wreck, could have done without it, but at least everyone is okay. I wish I could say the same for the Cobalt...Guy in the blue was driving, with little baby in the back he had just dropped the wife off I'm guessing, she was not in the car.I was attempting to make a right when the white Chevy came out right in front of me... the driver is trying to blame it on me, har har. I still can't believe it happened, I'm going and getting it fixed tomorrow. Mostly, the Vibe looks alright inside, but the drivers door won't open, and I got a flat. OH!!! and all my lights work fine, except the one on the passenger's side Oh, and to top it all off, not one, not two, but three cops showed up, for a fender bender in a parking lot, plus the two campus security. (but it's okay, the cops were cute )

dang glad you are okay! do no admit any fault though for sure. Make sure when you get your car fixed, there is a metal piece that holds the wheel well liner away from your tire, that that is fixed or the tire will rub on the wheel well and burn a hole in it....it happened to my car..

Just by looking at the position of the other car on the road you can blatently tell it was their fault and not yours so I hope the officers saw it your way....unless they are like every other close minded old school police officer that likes to profile people into the "street racer" category. Good luck

Damn V! You nailed that Cobalt! the wheel's popped right out. I'm glad nobody was hurt. The Vibe doesn't look too bad, mostly cosmetic. Once the new fender goes on, the door will open fine, it's just pushed back a little. You gotta love Florida, accident reports from a golf cart.

The cops can't do anything cause it was in the parking lot, private property.

It was clearly the other guy's fault, but the cops wouldn't write a ticket because it was private property. We both had State Farm, so there was no incentive for the insurance company to do anything about it. I only had liability insurance at the time, so I ended up sending it to the junkyard (repair cost outweighed the car's value). I canceled my State Farm policy shortly after.

This old guy forced me off the road trying to keep me from passing. I was fortunate enough to get good pictures of the aftermath and even my tire tracks on the road (matching the tread). He had Geico and I have State Farm. The Geico folks were very professional and helped resolve this quickly. Hope the same goes for you.

just found this picture, my dad took it...Real pictures of the parking lot with some PSed cars...I'm still waiting, cause the other driver's story doesn't match up with mine, so the claim adjuster has to investigate. The other drive has sent in a diagram of “what happened†and where the cars were. So I e-mailed my pictures and my diagram above, so the adjuster got my pictures this afternoon, and get the other drivers diagram some time soon. And Wednesday I'll find out the estimate amount of the damage.

man that still sucks..in all reality..like i said before..it's their fault..they never yeilded to on-coming traffic AND their on the wrong side of the road..they should be where that curved part is

I don't think it will, with the pictures I sent him and the fact that I have a witness should speed up the process a whole bunch, I would just love to hear what he said, or this diagram he sent in, but I don't think I'll be able to hear or see anything.

Well, I got the estimate, it's going to be $2717.53 no word yet if Geico is going to pay for it yet.

Although it looks like you'll need a bumper, fender and headlight assembly; so that's probably an OK price. So, sorry to hear of your run-in. After seeing you at the meet, I sort of think of V as being like a sister to Viva. Hope it gets resolved quickly in your favor.

Well I have great things to say about both State Farm and Geico.I have my own insurance with State Farm, and they dish out checks like its nothing. haha. I got a $2500 check in less than a week I think. And as for Geico, well that is where I now work They pay GREAT and have great benefits. As for service, I haven't gotten to experience any of that yet, I'm still in training. haha.Well the best of luck to you V. I guess if we all have a meet soon, I have a slightly better chance of winning best in show. haha. but not by much.

Something very similar happened to my girlfriend in her Corolla. It was a 2006 and the damage required replacing the front bumper, drivers side fender, and headlight assembly. Being the thrifty and mechanically inclined boyfriend, I volunteered to do the job (minus paint). So she got the quote and check for $2,000 and since I did the labor, she ended up walking away $900 richer from the deal!!! When the insurance company asked who did the labor, she said her boyfriend runs a small private shop...she just didn't say how small and private it was

Well, Geico is only taking 70% of the blame The other driver said he saw me, stopped and tried to back up, but didn't have any time... and now it's time to fight the insurance company.
