This morning on my way to work, I walk out to my Vibe and low and behold. someone broke into my car. I am not sure if I locked my doors but, there wasn't any damage to the car, it self. They rummaged threw my armrest and glove compartment and the little compartment just under the shifter. The only thing they took...... was my little mag light flashlight. I bet though any amount of money they were looking for the locking lugnut for my custom rims. I guess they found the flash light and was using that to search, then got scared off. Nothing else was taken, not the 5 bucks or so of change or any of my cd's.The locking lug key is in the back in one of the other compartments back there. It's not easy to find. . This pending move of mine couldn't come fast enough, my wife said I guess we need to get an alarm for the car now. I am not so sure that would have stopped them in the first place.

that sucks! I'm glad they didn't take anything or just trash it out of spite I'm also thankful for the neighborhood I live it. It's a dead-end road on the outside of town. Back when I had my sunfire I accidentally left the door wide open one night... nothing was gone haha I doubt anyone even noticed. I hope your move goes smoothly

Sorry to hear that man. Glad nothing was taken. As you know that is what happened to me too, not too long ago. But they got some of my stuff and that is why i have an alarm now.

Yeah... I never leave the lug nut key in the obvious places. At least they didn't break any windows or damage your car.

That's a bummer. But at least nothing was taken.I hate when people violate my space.I'm surprised your dog didn't go mad.But it might be a good idea to move the lug key.In instances like this,I wish the Vibe had a locking glove box.

man, i'm glad you're only out a maglight. a few years ago, they broke into my parent's garage. mom was actually in the house, saw it and called the police. he openned her car couldn't find anything, went through the garage, took my crampons and climbing rope and took off. the police caught him a little later, he claimed he found the stuff (as usual) and they couldn't give me the stuff back because they were going to book it as evidence. mom had to go to court, the guy nevr showed up. disappeared. asked for my stuff back, and they said they new they were gonna catch the guy, so they had to keep the evidence. a year later, i'm heading for longs peak. i call the police and go through the same ****.i had to go out and buy a new set of crampons and rope. and here it is almost 4 years later, and i've given up trying to get the stuff back. it might as well have been stolen! good luck on your move. better places...

Just had the police here to report it. He told me that i am about the 20th person today that reported a break in. He also asked if there was an object that they could pull a print off of. I said no, sorry. The cd case is canvas and everthing else that was moved could have been touched by anyone who looked at buying the car.He just said to double check that the car is locked.

I'm SO glad they only got your maglite!a couple of years ago, I witnessed a break in at 3am on a Saturday morning. It was an old Honda, parked in a stall under a light several buildings away, and the alarm was going off for a LONG time. I peeked out my B/R window, which looks out to the direction of that lot, to see a guy frantically running around the car while another guy waited in another car. I called police when I saw it. The owner was the second to call. Of course, the police show up like 20 minutes later, but by then the scum had given up on the honda and drove off in the car they came in. The police wanted my witness statement, so they had me go out there and after the investigation, we all looked inside the car...the scum had already taken apart under the dashboard...there were parts and screws all over the floor.
