Painting the door handles and hatch handles

I was thinking about either trying to get the door handles plus the hatch handle either painted or buy new ones either from the dealer or of a junker. Any suggestions?

I got my hatch piece painted when my cladding was painted. I should've got my door handles done at the same time but didn't think about it hahaIf you're gonna buy them then I would suggest trying to find ones from a junk yard first b/c new ones from a dealer are more than likely going to be pricey

How much did it cost to get you cladding painted? Did you have it done at the dealership or by someone local?

I had it done at a local bodyshop while my Vibe was in for some body work (I hit a pole )All together it cost me $250 for the cladding + ~$150 for clips. The owner of the shop obviously gave me a deal (and also gave me the clips at cost so I wasn't completely screwed). Another member on here got a quote for his cladding, Lancer I think, which was around $800. Crazy, right?Just ask around a get quotes. The clips are the most horrible part of the whole thing.

I'm wondering, Does the cladding and door handles require any prep to paint (sanding them smooth)? Or can they just shoot them like they are?

I don't know & I didn't ask... but I would guess it would depend on the condition of your cladding as far as sanding goes. If it does require sanding then it wouldn't need much b/c it's allready pretty smooth.

I was thinking about staying with the Abyss color. Don't want to get too crazy. Now if I had a two-tone Salsa Vibe, I MIGHT paint the cladding black. I think that would look good.

I'm not really sure what color would go good with abyss...I think maybe silver would look good if you had some other silver accents... I don't know.
