6" subs

What's everyone's take on 6" subs? I'm thinking about doing the under the seat sub box at some point. I saw someone on here put an 8" Rockford Fosgate under there. Does a 6" still have decent bass? I don't want anything that's going to shake the car and could care less if other people can hear it. I just want some filler since my door speakers don't have much bottom end.

I have heard some really impressive sounding 8" woofers in a Dodge Viper and Porsche 911. I made a decent sounding bandpass box for some 8's too. I have never heard of getting bass out of 6's, but then again, most home tower speakers have a really small woofer in them (maybe 6") so I guess with the right box/amp/woofer combination a 6" sub under the seat would do what you want. The only thing is, it is hard enough to find a good quality 8" subwoofer, so good luck finding a decent 6" subwoofer. You could always get a really good set of 6.25"s and use a crossover to take away the highs. Another suggestion would be to do the same with 6x9's. With enough power, 6x9's can really thump! Good luck whatever way you go...

i would just go with 8s for extremely clean, not overbearing bass

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure what I'll end up going with. I'm leaning towards two 6's vs two 8's because it's cheaper and I'm not sure if the amp I have even works anymore. But I'll think about it some more and maybe by the end of the summer I'll get something.
