Lance (meh boyfriend) and I just got back from several road trips in Pandora and I'd like to report that it was a smooth, comfortable ride! (once I got my lumbar pillow!)Pandora is nearly 1 year old, with upper 14k miles. The day before, I washed her up pretty (gotta have a clean surface for bugs to stick to ya know ) topped the tire pressure, checked the spare (*) and got her loaded up and ready to roll for our 6am Sunday the 1st departure. *I would love to SLAP whoever designed this spare tire set-up. You have to completely take out the entire backside just to get to the tire stem, which faces DOWN!! I'm sure I'm not the only one here to grumble about this, but sheesh it made me mad. /rantWe travelled to Saratoga Springs, NY appx 890 miles round trip. I am PROUD to report that Pandora got 34.3 mpg when we didn't run the A/C (it was pretty cool until we headed home) and 31.5mpg with the A/C. She usually averages 28-29 mpg in my day-to-day highway/city driving combo. I did ding 15k while up north. While the visit to Saratoga was for a family memorial, we did get to take in the sites of the area. First, our hotel was freakin' great! We had a luxury bathroom with a jacuzzi tub that I barely ever got out of. Everyplace we ate was great. The area was very posh with most of the tourist economy coming from the horsetrack. (Especially living near Laurel Racetrack and working near Pimlico, I see firsthand how an area can deteriorate around a track, so I was thrilled to see how such a successful track can make an area better!) It was about two weeks before race season, so the prices were cheaper on everything, but there were no races to see We saw a community orchestra in the park playing Stars and Stripes music for the 4th, we visited the gardens at Yaddo Mansion, and spent a lot of time walking around taking pictures of neat historic buildings. I found I have a weird fascination with corbels http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corbel which I took quite a lot of pictures of, and just now learned the proper name of. We returned home on the 3rd and bummed around for a few days playing video games and not putting on pants before we headed back out on the 6th for Rehoboth Beach Delaware. 230 miles round trip. I bought So much stuff from the tax-free outlets there that I was momentarily worried I'd have to put the seats down to stow it all, but alas, my sweet Vibe had SO much room! We had two weekender suitcases (think airline pilots), two pillows, a fat little briefcase-like bag, two beach chairs, beach umbrella, 4 shopping bags filled with clothes and shoes and I could STILL see through the back window. We also had a cooler behind the drivers seat and road munchies behind the passenger. The beach was fabulous and we wished we could have stayed an extra night. And it's official, I am in LOVE with the Vespa scooters . Does anyone know if that will fit in the back of my Vibe? I may have to go buy one and hook up a hitch and cart to pull it back... Hmmm...All in all, I used a tank and a half each way to Saratoga and a hair over 1/2 for the Rehoboth trip.I love my VIBE!

hehehe, yeah he's used to my ADD-like obsessions. Last year I was obsessed with the Vibe (still am!) and the year before that it was the violin... I keep cycling through my affair with the Vespa... they're pretty expensive as far as toys go for me, so I never quite get around to buying one. It would have been great when I lived inside Baltimore proper, but now I have a 40 minute commute up I-95... NOT good for a 39mph two-stroke LOL There were scooters all over the place at the beach and a Vespa Boutique. I just wanted to lick the glass everytime i walked past
