So I was changing the oil and the oil filter (K&N all the way) and everything went perfectly. I drove my Vibe over to Advanced Auto to recycle the oil and it worked perfectly. I parked in the driveway and washed it, and when I went to pull back into the garage, the transmission wouldn't work. I can do park and N but thats all. This is an 04 Vibe. Can anyone help?

Are you sure you changed the engine oil,and not the tranny fluid. What else could have possibly happened.

I am 99.9% positive. Unless I somehow managed to drain the tranny and then fill the engine up without noticing a difference.

Was that the first time you changed your oil on the Vibe? Why don't you check the tranny dipstick to see what color the fluid is just for kicks.

This is the first time I changed the oil. I just got back from Basic Training and learned my car went to my sister, but they got me this "great" vibe. Haha, I like it mostly.Tranny is a little low, but not bad. If it drove, I would go get some fluid to top it off. To double check myself, where is the bolt for the oil located?

It's towards the passenger side, directly under the engine. The oil pan also has an indent in it where the 15mm bolt is.The tranny is on the drivers side.

The tranny bolt had gotten loose and was leaking. I've tightened it and filled it, so its running like a dream again. Thanks!
