As long as you don't have the Sun & Sound package (or just the upgraded audio with sub) I think it'll be fine.

I have the stock HU with Infinity Ref 6012's (I think). Sounds much better than stock. I've had them in for a year now with no problems other than the front passenger one rattling, but that's because of the crappy install they did.

If your not rockin the moon n tunes, get a aftermarket Cd unit to complete the deal... it'll sound much better than it does now...

Hndlthis--you will be happy with the results of upgrading speakers. I too would suggest installing a new deck while you are at it.shane_c--as far as your rattling front speakers, the problem I had with mine is that is removed the stock basket--I am too impatient to cut & glue. Anyway, for 6.5's to clear the window, they must be mounted all the way in the bottom of the hole which leaves a gap between the top of the speaker and the hole in the door. The result? You can only install 2 screws (side by side) at the very bottom of the speaker. Mine rattled so bad it drove me crazy. So to fix it, I took some metal pieces and added braces to the top of the speaker for more support. No more rattle now. BTW, the door panels come off very easily. Just be careful with the tweeter covers.

I'm not a big sound fanatic... but would just like to get a little better/clearer sounding sound. I think my computer speakers are better than the stock speakers in my car...I just wanted to know if it would damage anything or if I'm good to go.

Like I mentioned up above I've had Infinity's for a year now on the factory HU and have had no problems. I have 6.5" front and back. I'm happy with the speakers. They are very clear and crisp and a huge improvement over the factory garbage. I do find they lack a bit on the bass side though. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.
