A good day that turned into bad.

Well my day today started out good and then went to crap. On every saturday I go pot bowling with all my friends. I got up to the bowling alley around 9 pm and left around 2 am. I did really good bowling like i always do and won 60 dollars. so we head out the door as the bowling alley is closing and head to my car. i put my stuff in the back and open up the driver door. well, lone and behold, somebody broke into my car and stole my GPS, MP3 player, and my Pocket PC. No broken windows or any real bad damage to car. I can not figure out how they got in and i always lock my doors. So i call the cops like i should and file the report. so now i get to wait to see if they decide to pawn the stuff and then i will get my stuff back. But most likely it is gone and now i have to go but all new stuff.

oh damn that sucks. i've been broken into three times (apartment and 2 cars) and it's one of the worst feelings i've experienced. they prolly got in with a slim jim. if you know what you're doin with one, you can get in a car pretty damn fast.

Someone helped themselves to my bluetooth headset and about $100 worth of tools out of my Vibe without leaving a mark or a door unlocked about 18 months ago. I feel for you man.

Sorry to hear that. Yeah, if they didn't punch the locks and you didn't leave any doors unlocked, they had to have used a slim jim...it can take them very few seconds to do it.

sorry to hear that 02csnow. if i leave my stuff in the car i'll throw it in the center console no matter how long i'll be gone. as often as possible i'll take it with me. i also have a viper alarm so theres an led that flashes (on the plastic thing behind the steering wheel, where some cars have the button for the flashers) and is visible at night. i also have a viper sticker on my window so hopfully they'll see that in the day and realize its not worth the trouble

That sux man.... Nothing worse than being violated like that... This is what i'm worried about with my Vibe and the system i'm planning on installing... I do have a few tricks to keep it safe, unless they REALLY want it, then there is nothing stopping them

Will your insurance cover any of the stuff in your car?

My deductible is 500 and the gps was 250, mp3 was 60 and the pocket pc was 150 but it was a gift. so it is kinda pointless to go through insurance. i already went out and got a new gps and mp3 player already.

that blows. in my 85 gti, i thought i'd be cheap and buy one of those fake keypads with blinking led lights. they broke in and stole my radio AND the keypadin my 92 rodeo, i got a basic theft system, but had them mount an extra horn under the drivers seat. that worked well. the truck got broken into , but it was so noisy inside they couldn't stay in there long enought to take anything.
