Parts Question

I have a stupid question. Since the Vibe is for all intents and purposes a Toyota Matrix, when I go to the GM Dealership and get things repaired do they get GM parts to fix the car or do they get Toyota Parts. Just curious, I would think that you would get Toyota Parts in a GM box but you never know.ThanksKevin

Yep,everything except the sheetmetal is Toyota. So parts are Toyota in a GM box.So when you need parts,go to Toyota and buy it for a Matrix.Kevin-Cheers

[EDIT] kev beat me to it

I think after 04 the radios changed and aren't the same... don't hold me to that though. Other than that everything is the same except for the sheet metal like kevera said

Radios are all GM on all Vibes. The 05+ matrix has a delphi(Toyota radio) and the radio cover is different too.

what Kev..said....if it works for a Matrix it probably works for a Vibe parts wise that is..just be sure to watch that it is a base/xr part or gt/xrs part...

Are the radios that swapable? I have Sirius and Toyota has Sirius Standard Radios. But GM uses XM and I would love to swap out the radios to have Sirius in my Vibe. Will this void the Warranty?

I think the connector is different on the newer Toyota. Then you would also have to change the silver radio cover to fit the toyota radio. You can hardwire an aux output to plug the Sirius into.

Yea that is the Toyota Radio. What is that button to the right of the gear shifter for anyway. I think that may have been for the 4 wheel drive but I am curious now that I see its like that on an 05 Model.

You can get a GM AC Delco oil filter for the Vibe. That is what I run and will always. I get them at the local auto stores. I do this because if I ever had an engine warranty issue the GM dealer would see I am using an approved AC filter and could not blame the filter if in question. Plus I support our suppliers that support our American car business.

I always call my delaership first to get a price...then I call the Toyota dealership to get their price. So far the Toyo dealer has been cheaper on everything. Too bad the TRD parts aren't cheap up here like the US.
