I don't mean to start any rampant speculation, but I just don't know what to make of this. I received a mailer today from my Pontiac dealer about trading in my Pontiac for a new one with special incentives... blah, blah. Very generic; it didn't have anything to do with the Vibe.BUT, on the front of the mailer is a picture of the front of an unidentified Pontiac. It does not look like any current Pontiac that I know of, and it seems to be roughly the shape of a Vibe. Could it be the 2008 Vibe? I have no idea.Does anyone know what this is a picture of?

I haven't seen the G8; is it a crossover or a sedan or what? This picture seems to be uncannily similar to the shape of the Vibe.

Oh, well... sorry for getting anyone excited for a moment. I myself was excited. I've now seen another picture of the G8 and it doesn't look as cool from a 3/4 angle as it does cut off straight from the front!

So if Pontiac is going with all these G6, G5, G8 blah, blah, blah what is the Vibe gonna be?G3.5? G2? G???? How do they label a Toyota? Maybe the G4W W=wagon?Hmmm any other thoughts?

According to the Wikipedia article, the Vibe isn't getting redesigned until '09 ('08 typo?) and the Matrix is getting axed. Of course, I have no idea where that info came from, so I can hardly say it's reliable.

The G8 is gr8... or so I think from what I've seen so far.

i love the look of the front end of the g8. i agree with the g3 idea, goes with the mazda 3 thing, but couldnt pontiac get in trouble with mazda for the "3" thing?

I think the G8 is a nice (I was tempted to use the word "great") sport sedan with higher trim levels available... but not insanely expensive like mid - higher BMW, Volvo, or other sports cars.With the top end model hauling a healthy and strong 6L V8 under the hood, it'll be ridiculed by the market for not paying attention to mileage or economy and die a few years later. But if I could actually justify the costs - I'd buy one over a foreign model of equiv. cost easily.
