2.5" custom pipe

So after installing the header, I figured I would increase the flow a bit more. I am too cheap to buy a cat-back or an axle-back, so I left the stock resonator in place and had 2.5" stainless pipe installed from the resonator to the muffler which is similar to a flowmaster. The muffler has a 2.5" inlet and outlet and a few small baffles in it. With the 3.5" resonator tip on the end, the sound is now actually quiter than before. It has more of a rally car rumble at WOT and sounds more mellow than with the stock pipe. I'll try to upload some pics and video later tonight. The 2.5" pipe looks huge in there! So far no back pressure problems or CEL

What's your low end torque feel like?? I put 2.5" pipes on my Subaru from the cat back and i lost power... i ended back at 2" to regain the low end torque back... N/A engines require a bit of back pressure to achieve proper low end torque.... Works well on the high end though.. So, i'm just wondering how it feels now?

The vibe, as you know, has little torque to begin with. Nonetheless, with the addition of my 2.5" pipe from the resonator to the muffler, there are no noticeable losses in the torque department; if anything, it feels a little bit stronger on the bottom. The top end is much stronger, though. The car really builds revs quickly. I look to take it to the track soon to open it up and see what it'll do in a 1/4.I think the Vibe is like a 125cc 2-stroke dirtbike--it loves to rev!
