Hey there. I was considering getting some hood protection as that I have a few chips in my hood. Any suggestions? A partial bra to cover the front or maybe a bug guard, you know, the plastic ones. And if any bug guards, any certain brand that anyone reccommends? I've already got the ventguards for my windows and the sunroof protector, just need a good hood protector. Thanks in advance!

try using the search feature for bug deflector. Lots of good threads about it!

I am thinking about the 3M Protector....i'd probably need them to do a few touch ups with paint first then apply the protector over (::looks around unsure:they do the bumper too, right?

I have had the Lund "Bugflector II" on my Abyss-colored Vibe for 2 months now. It looks nice because it has a deep smoke color to compliment the black paint, and the Lund logo is in chrome, so it matches the accents on the '06 grille. My only issue with the Bugflector II, and perhaps the Lund brand itself, is the hardware is a JOKE! It took me an hour to get all 4 of the clips assembled to the point where they would not ruin my paint job. The clear tape they supply sucks, too. But once I got it on (after swearing for the hour I mentioned) it looks nice, not junky. I have not had more than 4 or 5 dead bugs on my windshield, plus only 2-3 rocks get through, which is saying a lot - seeing that I drive 65 miles a day on the highway.

I have the clear car bra installed on the hood of my Pontiac Vibe as well as a full clear car armor kit installed on my STi. Its worth the money and does the job perfectly.

yep, i have a clear bra on the front end of my car as well. on my VGT, i had a lund carflector but it was just about worthless. i took it off and sold it. i hope the new owner had better success than i.

I bought a magnet bra when I bought my Murano about a month ago. I have been very happy with it. It was much easier to spend $50 than the $3-400 for the clear bra. http://www.magnetbra.com

true, however, the entire front end of both the LegaSTI and STI are completely covered and protected. it made a huge difference on our drive down and back on the Alcan.

That looks really good with your black paint.

Thanks! The fact that it turned out well with the black paint really helped. I hate putting plastic all over my car, but I needed something. I only paid $50 before shipping, I believe. The magnet is cool and versatile on that Murano, but the flat finish is something that kind of turns me off. I guess I like the glare on the Lund, especially when I have the hood waxed.Like I said, the hardware SUCKS! That might be where the clear and magnet-types beat me. However, I like the curve in the Lund that creates the air stream over the hood, as well as keeping all the dead bugs towards the very top of my windshield and out of my vision. Hope this and the other posts help in the decision-making!
