Anyone have an easy method for removing road tar off the plastic lining/exterior?--and maybe even the tail pipe?

At the auto parts store, look for "Bug and Tar remover".It comes in a spray can.I've used "WD40" with good results also.

Try "WD40" then, see if thats better. You will have to soak the area and let it sit for a few minutes to fully remove the tar.

As for the tailpipe, get some triple 0 (says 000 on the package) Steel Wool. Pull a piece off and using that with some water clean off the pipe. Then with some metal polish, it will be shiny new.Clay Bar System. Autozone sells the Clay Magic stuff for about $10.Or get the Bug & Tar Remover, looks like this.

You can also try 3M #8984. You can find it at your local automotive paint supply store. I work in one and I get people all the time that have this problem and I go out there and use it and it work's real good. Try it.....nuvibe
