Losing paint on side guard

I've had my vibe for less than a week, but have already notices a few spots where the paint has rubbed off on the side protector thinggie (the part that protects the body metal from car doors opening on it. I just barely touched it when opening a car door next to it, and the paint wore off.I have a frosty vibe, and the black rubber underneath the paint shows very clearly! Am I doomed to a life of touch-up paint?

I feel your pain as the same thing happened to the guard on the passenger's side front door on my Vibe. I'm fairly certain some donkey hit it in a parking lot. The kicker is Pontiac doesn't have their act together with parts yet and I've been waiting for silver touch-up paint for weeks.

If you have the "satellite" silver, you have GM code 13 paint. They have been using it for years. As a matter of fact, my 1976 Nova is that color which is one of the reasons I bought a "satellite" silver Vibe. If you look up any 2000-2002 Pontiac car with code 13 paint, it will be the same even though the name is different. One good place is here: http://www.paintscratch.com Look up a 2002 Firebird and get "Sebring Silver Metallic Clearcoat" 13/WA9566 That is the same GM code 13 silver paint on your Vibe.Don't get "Galaxy Silver Metallic Clearcoat" 12/WA519F That is a different shade (GM code 12 paint).

I know on my Cavalier, GM sent me a 'welcome kit' with coupons and a free bottle of touch-up paint.Has anyone got this for their Vibe??

Having the same problem. The door moulding is so soft that any ding from a door causes the paint to come of showing the black underneath. I can't imagine what the car will look like in a few years full of dings here. It already is staring to look bad.

You think you have problems!!! I got my car not even 24 hours ago and the dealership dinged it! I am going back tomorrow to get it fixed.... although reading your posts I wonder what the fix will involve, a new moulding or just some touchup paint maybe??!!

I didn't fully understand what all the fuss was about ....until today. A car parked next to my Vibe opened it's door and bearly touched my door and the paint came off. I couldn't beleve how easy it came off. What is the paint code for Salsa?

81 is for Lava. Salsa is 44.The entire list is:Satellite (silver) = 13Shadow (grey) = 15Abyss (black) = 19Frosty (white) = 40Salsa (dark red) = 44Envy (green) = 46Neptune (blue) = 62Lava (medium red) = 81

Mine was delivered to the dealer on a Friday p.m., and when I picked it up on Tuesday, it already had a "chip" on the door guard, and a rub mark on the tip of the nose. W.T.F. is wrong with some people?Even though mine is Shadow, it still shows.
