Another New Guy

Hey all,Just picked up my brand new 2006 Stealth Vibe tonight. I have been stalking this car online for two months and finally snapped it up. Somebody at the dealership screwed up when they ordered it, so she sat on the lot for a year and a half with the Sun and Sounds package and the Sport Package, but no power package. Nobody wanted her and the dealer wanted to get it off the lot TODAY. Made me an offer I couldn't refuse after I added my dad's GM discount. I guess I can deal with manual windows and and no keyless entry. Cranking windows up and down builds character, right? No mods planned, except adding the 12V outlet in the console. I'm amazed at how much room is inside and how nice it drives. Very pleased with my purchase so far and glad to find a cool community of owners. Now I need find a good place to hide the keys from my wife.

Welcome.Keyless entry is a piece of cake to install, and they're cheap. I have a DIY article on my website here. Its not for a Vibe, but its fairly similar. Power windows are a bit more complicated.

Power windows are a bit more complicated.Very nice and pretty cheap too. Thanks for the heads-up!Between the power locks and the cruise control mods, I can practically build my own power package. I don't need no stinking factory install. Heck, I should just find a wrecked Vibe with the power package and raid it for all of the door guts and switches and install them in mine. Anyone else try that? I just wish they had put a simple line-in plug on these stereos. How hard could that be? Almost every other new car on the market has a line in or an iPod adapter. Oh well, guess I'll be doing some modding after all... I'm taking the car back to the dealer tomorrow to get it detailed and I'll post some pics this weekend. Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm sure I'll be spending lots of time surfing around this site for ideas.

The dealer detailed her today and then 10 minutes after I'm on the road to go home, it starts pouring (of course). Here are some shots from after I got rid of all the water spots and truly detailed the exterior, unlike the dealership guy. He didn't even wipe the doorjambs or under the hatch glass. Boo!Enjoy and thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome. No Power. Here's one without the front license plate bracket. It looks so much better. I love living in Kentucky. Only 324 miles (had 180 when I took it home).
