Hi all new to the forum. =P ive got an 05 base with a blown engine (owner forget to change oil on a regular) and was wondering on replacement options... a friend of mine recommended that i swap in an old turbo charged celica engine but i was hoping for some other suggestions. im looking for something sportier then the stock angine... anyways the car is 100% factory at the moment and ive got a budget of about 5000 ... what would be the best choice of action =P ?

Yeah, I say you just do a rebuild on the engine with MWR parts and make it a solid 1zz, then it can be turbo'd. Otherwise just get a 1zz from the junkyard or ebay from a trix or corolla 05+.

turbokits.com sells a turbo kit for our cars...but it's under matrix. that's in your budget and will give your car some more sport to it.

if the all trac celica engine fits put that in. You'd have alot of fun.

The All trac model had the 3S-GTE engine. That would require all new ecu, tranny and engine mounts. Lots of work but if you had a AWD vibe it could be fun! specially a turbo one.... just cost a lot :/

When you say blown engine, what is actually wrong with it? Head gasket, rods, block, oil pump?Everyone likes to go turbo (it's easier for more power), but I'd like to see what built up all motor could do. Drop in a chevy small block!
