not about to do it or anything but i was driving my friends scion tc the otherday and thought man it would be wonderful to have this much low end torque, plus it has low enough compression to boost safely. so my question is has anyone ever tried to swap in the 2.4? what they should have done, in my opinion, is put the 2.4 in the vibe, then for the gt version, let yamaha design the head for that bad boy. anywho, im not considering doing this.... yet... but wanted to know has it ever been done?

I don't think anyone had done that swap, before. I know there was a couple celica owners that swapped a 1zz for a 2zz or even a built stroker (1ZZ/2ZZ) engine. No Vibers or MOer's have done that though.

the next vibe is rumored to have that 2.4l toyota engine in it, maybe the gt model?

I have not heard or read of anyone doing that yet... then again the current Vibe doesn't have much room under the hood.

I would doubt the 1.8 and 2.4 would be very much different exterior size wise since we're only talking 36 cubic inches internally.
