Close up. I chose to use the SS emblems from the Cobalt SS. The dealership I purchased the car from has already shown interest in helping me to continue this project.

why 15's? none of the vibe's come with 15's stock.

I already have a new set from the car I traded in. The tires on the car are crap and once I get the 15" rims it will work better with the lowering kit. I figured Toyota rims would be easy to find, but not around here. I have found some Cavalier, Z24 rims but too pricey.

I don't think the Z24 has a 5x100 bolt pattern...that would mean the rims wouldn't fit on the Vibe...fyi...As far as 15's, he said he wanted to use the tires he already has, but I would suggest that wheels are a big enough investment to not buy around the tire...unless the tires are $400 a piece, in which case, he may not have them long...Stripes look ok...not for me, but they don't clash too much...if you wanted the 'super sport', shoulda gone with the GT Looks good overall, glad to see the mod bug bit you

15's would make too much rubber unless it's for winter. but that's me... i had the OEM 17's on my GT and thought they were too much rubber still. i had 15's for winter and that just looked dumb.

The white stripes on the silver Vibe look well done. If you remove the roof rack assembly, please offer the cross bars to fellow genvibers, seems like there is usually some 2005+ owner looking for a set.I like having the right size tires to keep the speedo and odo accurate. There's a link to a tire size calculator in a sticky thread in the Wheels/Tires forum, will tell you what the calibration effect is of using a different size tire. Shorter sidewalls should give better handling, lower pothole resistance. But I have stock size tires on factory steelies, so keep that in mind when interpreting my tire comments

Dude, your ride looks great, keep up the good work. Don't let any off-the-wall comments discourage you. It's your ride, do it the way you want.

Looks good man! I like the stripes - gives the wagon a different look. Can't tell b/c they're down - but if they aren't already - get your windows tinted to complement the stripes

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I have checked the Tire Size Calculator and the difference is very minimal. I do have my 15" tires for sell just in case I can't find the right style with a "factory" look.

Yes I do realize that. Is this so different then a dealership adding ground effects and grafix to a plain used car to increase consumer interest?I was just bored with the look of the car and wanted to do something different while keeping it believable. Anyway with the dealership interested, they are searching for the unique parts I need to finish(Aero package, and supercharger) which they said they would work with me on any installs. Can't beat that. Thanks

Looks good! I like the stripes and extra lamps, all work nicely! Some silver headlamp overlays might make the headlamps look more aggressive too!

I had a 1989 Cavalier Z24. I can't imagine those rims being to easy to find these days and in good shape. Your refering to the ones with the white and black checkered flag like center cap right? Should look good on your SS Vibe.

LOL, You won't believe me when I tell you...Autozone. Spectre has a listing at the store that shows which pieces to use for various vehicles. There is no listing for the Vibe, but the Matrix is very close. I had to use a couple different peices to clear the battery, but a perfect fit. The individual pieces range from $5.99 and up to $19.99. I will get the list of the modular peices that I used and post it on here. You can check on the Spectre site for more info http://www.spectreperformance.com

Thanks! Cool Website, too! The Matrix XRS is the same as the Vibe GT.They also have one for the Corolla S which should be the same as the Vibe Base and AWD.

Here is a picture of the mock-up kit ($9.99), from Spectre as well. There are 7 pieces in the Vibe set-up. Here are the pieces that I know for sure. Mass air sensor mount (8705), manifold adapter (8707), 6" straight (8718), 90 degree (8698), I believe the 2 from the motor are 60 degree (8668) and the one at the filter is 22 degree (8728). I will make sure about the last 3 pieces.

The Matrix shows a 22 degree, MAF adapter, 60 degree, manifold, 60 degree, 6" straight, and a 45 degree.Part numbers in that order are, 8728, 8705, 8668, 8707, 8668, 8718, 8738.Like I said I had to change a few because of the battery. I will get the numbers for the 3 that I was unsure about for you. Then I will list them in the actual order. All you would need to do is position each piece at the right angles. Here is the mock-up put together the way mine is to give you some idea.

For the Vibe it would be, in order from the engine to the filter, boot kit, 8738, 8738, 8705, 8707, 8698, 8718, 8728, filter. That is 45, 45, MAF sensor mount, manifold, 90, 6" straight, 22, filter. The boot kit number is 8771(blk), 8772(red), 8776(blue).On the second 45, I had to drill for the PCV hose kit adapterThat kit number is 8711The manifold piece has three plugs that can be used on other cars for small hose connections. I used none of these. It was the only piece that fit.Take out the batteryThe front bolt holding the fuse box has to be removed. Once you get it together and attched to the engine, replace the battery and secure it. You will see that the fuse box doesn't line up with the bolt hole. I used a heavy zip tie to secuer it and keep it from moving. I know an bracket can be made with this small offset, when I get it done I will place the plans for it on here. From underneath the car, remove the bolts holding the black splash trim and swing it out of the way. You can see the Tube sticking down behind the drivers headlight. If you choose you can put the filter on the 22 first and stick it up through while another person connects it to the 6" straight (before the battery is replaced).I was thinking about adding another piece so it hangs down a bit more in front of the radiator. That would be for a car show though, not daily driving. Th whole unit fit so snug

Sorry pc went crazyThe whole thing fit snug enough no additional brackets were needed. If I add another 6" and a 22 I will use the bracket kit 8701 just to be safe. I don't want it falling off while driving down the road say 80 or 90mph, Just kidding of course.I hope that helps. If you can't find these just let me know and I will check with our Autozone to see if they can ship it to yours. Or you can pay me and I'll send it to you. I do use Paypal. No extra charges either. You pay what I paid for it plus shipping. My email is dinomixer2003@yahoo.com
