What does everyone think? do you even follow nascar? i am a big earnhardt fan, and i believe that jr leaving dei is an excelent thing, because i do not think that he can win championships at dei. i think he will go to either rcr or hendrick, both will make him win a championship or even tie his fathers 7. what does everyone think?

I love the move..It gets him away from his evil step mom ha ha. but seriously it allows him to have some stock in the company and not have his career run by someone who really doesn't understand nascar. BTW Jr's my racer.

Be careful what you wish for! This could set off a bidding war in NASCAR for talented drivers among many teams and sponsors. This may raise the going price for ALL championship-caliber drivers (top 20 or so in points), leading many drivers to leave their current teams to make bigger bucks elsewhere in the next few years. Let the Silly Season begin...

I don't understand why everyone in the NASCAR world is crucifying Teresa...I'm guessing it's mostly because she's not Dale.

well i think it will be a good career choice. his options right now are RCR, joe Gibbs, or start his own team. he has even said that he would go to a second teir team if the offer was good enough. its rumored that him and truex jr would both leave and open a JR motorsports nextel cup team. if that happens DEI might as well shut down.and its rumored that DEI has been talking to ford, and to another team about a merger! i think DALE SR would roll over in his grave if she let the team go to ford! i hope not!

Somehow I think his dad would agree that he needs to be a driver, not an actor and personality...that's why I don't understand why people are crucifying her. If he were still alive he'd probably be telling Jr the same thing.

i'm not a big nascar fan. i'll admit that i've never seen a race from start to finish. but about the whole thing with Jr. being a personality/actor: i don't see anything wrong with him tryna be good on both ends; he's racing and doing what he loves, but also tryna get endorsements or whatever off of the track. he's getting paid good $$ either way, and to me there's nothin wrong with that at all. no offense, but all the "if his father was still here" comments that i've heard are wearing thin. i don't have to be a nascar fan n know all the stats on every driver to know that just because he's a racing legend's son means that he has to follow the same path as his father(r.i.p.). Jr's doing what he can to the best of his ability.i'm not sure how many of yall know this, but michael jordan(who i'm a HUGE fan of) made more $$ "being an actor" in his endorsements than he did during his whole nba career. times have changed, and Jr. is just doin what he can with what he's got, and he's gettin nothin but respect from me.i've got an opinion on the "car of tomorrow", but i'll search for another thread to voice that in before i take this topic off course.(see, i know the rules )

I am not saying he should follow the same path as his father at all -- I'm just saying I don't understand why Teresa must be "in the wrong" for saying the same thing Dale would have. If it was Dale who was saying it, people would be nodding their heads fervently, but because it's Teresa (apparently Public Enemy #1), everyone is revolting. It just seems contradictory. That's all I'm saying.Junior can do whatever he wants for all I care...I have no investment whatsoever in what he wants to do. He can be an actor and a personality or he can be a driver and it's no skin off my nose either way. I just think his dad would have wanted him to be a driver first, if for no other reason than to want to see his son follow in his footsteps. That doesn't mean I think he should do that though, and that isn't what I am saying at all. IMHO Junior has done a lot of things since 2001 that his dad would not have liked and probably would have sat down on him about -- I guess that's why they didn't always have the greatest relationship. I just don't understand why when the same words come out of someone else's mouth (i.e. Teresa's) instead of Dale's, they must be wrong.

I think it is a good move for him, but persomally I don't think he'll ever be the caliber of driver to win a championship. He's just not that good.
