I went to the dealer yesterday to fix few trouble on my Vibe.1- Slow cranking in cold weather, battery now powerfull enough2- Slipping belt on cold morning3- "Squicking" sound coming from the clutch pedal4- "Scratching" plastic sound when I release my hand brake.1- The mechanic tested the battery and recharging system. Battery test ok at 150 amp, alternator generate 80 amp., No trouble found2- Accessory belt ok, tension ok. Could be due to cold weatehr and condensation on the strap. Nothing to do with this. No trouble found3- He lubricated the pedal axle. Trouble gone!!!! 4- He cut little piece of plastic No more scratching sound For my battery, trust, it is not over. I called the service dept. manager and I complain about the low CCA gauge of the battery. He sould get back to me this after-noon.

Well, it is good to hear that a couple problems were resolved. I think we are all wanting to take a look at this battery issue. I am definately going to be asking my dealer about the battery as well.

May be if they got a lot of complain, GM will move and make a recall of a service bulletin on the battery.

I received a call back from the service manager. He told me they cannot do anything cause the battery is ok and this is the standard in all Vibes. They can only change it if GM put a recall of a service bulletin on the battery. Also, he asked me if I add some electric equipment like remote car starter and/or upgrated the stereo system. They are always trying to put the fault on the owner instead on the poor engineering.I'll call GM to complain about the poor battery performance.

I called the GM Canada customer satifaction line.I spoke with Francine and explain her my trouble. She told me if enough people complain about the battery, GM will recall then and remplace them with a better one.

Haven't been back since the warranty was over.
