What are the little "wing" things behind the rear window for?Everyone says that front end is ugly but I like it

the little spoiler re-directs air flow to the large spoiler to make it more functional then older models.my folks will be flying to alaska and driving the Vibe back to Canada.

3 years of waiting.... and it's finally here. the pics of the car do not do it justice. the white is beautiful (and i don't like white cars). however, this is a pearl color, it's white but more off white or cream with metallic flakes in the paint. It is the same white that came on the limited production STI Limited (only 400). I test drove one of the gray ones while i was in WA last Nov. They had a white one there too and both my dad and i really loved that Pearl color. It's just gorgeous! but i guess i can deal with the huge wing... otherwise, the car is beautiful.

*envy envy envy envy*Someday I will have one. The wife always says we should get a Evo, but I said the STI's are better.... I guess it all depends on which one of our cars quits first, lol. For once I am hoping the Vibe does once it's paid for.... my garage can't handle 2 lancers.Either way, you picked a great car Mav, we want a full report on it's driving abilities.

Well I have driven the 2007 Evo 9MR and comparing it to my 2007 STi... well I love the STi a LOT more. I'll have a full report in a few days

the Evo is an impressive machine. however, the dealership up here has a terrible service department. plus, the Evo crew are having a hard time with their trannies seeming to break much more than the STI's (6MT MR versions). I am really looking forward to driving the STI once it's properly broken in. Mav gets to do that...

Very nice car. When did they start putting the vortex generators on the rear? (ie the little wing on the rear windsheild) I kinda like that better than the row of 'spikes' on the Evo's.

Lovvvvve the new ride.... Not feeling the gold rims, i know it's a subi thing an all just never struck me as a good color for the car.Good luck with it.... O B T W.... have you heard about the subie tire issue?I have an uncle who works for a tire shop who informed me that if a subie blows or shreds a tire or damages a tire that is unrepairable there is a VERY good chance that you will have to replace all FOUR tires depending on the other three tires and what tread life is left on them.If you don't replace the all four tires you have a very good likely hood to be buying a brand new tranny in the not so distant future.Apparently, because of the sofistication of the four wheel drive system and if the tires aren't closely matched in the outside diam. it will damage the AWD system. The company that he works for actually has a disclamer that owners of subies need to sign if they only want to replace the one tire that is bad verces all four.

yes, that is pretty much true. however, tires are pretty easy to come by up here. LOL. winter tires, and summer tires. we have 3 sets in the garage now! good thing they are all the same size. unfortunately the wheel offset and lug pattern is different.

Looks Good, Phil. The gold wheels are a bit much for me, I'd go with either white or gunmetal wheels myself. What are you going to do with your Vibe's old Icon wheels? I see you have your stockers back on your Vibe.

Was out at the Alaska Speedway park for SCCA Autocross this past weekend. The wife (AKLGT) and I shared our (her) Legasti (Legacy GT with STi turbo, Intake manifold, Intercooler, TGV delete, SPT catback exhaust, SPT intake and gutted cats, stage 2 Access Port maps) but I brought out my new car to scare all the participants :DLeft to right:00maddogg (Jerry) me and Jaylyons1 (Jay)No thats not our truck though... I wish it was!And just to show the large turn out of Subarus at SCCA events here in alaska...The Legasti

I cannot wait til the next event (Sunday). hopefully I can get a hold of Kiwi for the coilover adjustment tool and the rims arrive so we have some decent rubber! i think our times will be much lower b/w the 2!

looks great, mav.i love the red stitching on the steering wheel, e-brake, and shift knob n boot. it woulda matched the interior better if it was blue tho. ya know it would look tight if you replaced the blue interior accents w/ white ones btw, am i the only one that thinks the steering wheel design closely resembles the vibe's??

Great pics. I think the red-white-blue cars in front of the hauler & mountain would make a fantastic poster!LORD! All those rocks in photo #3 will sure take the shine off that pearl-white paint job on your new STI in a hurry!

Some more pics.I had clear car armor installed on the front bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors as well as a piece along the edge of the scoop. I also swapped out the tail lights with 2004-2005 model tail lights. I like them MUCH better on there then the chrome looking 07 tail lights.

Very nice car, I went to subaru.com and took a look at the specs - impressive stats for a four banger.I'd get killed on fuel though, premium is running $3.40/gal around here and dropping 10MPG from my vibe... I'd be in the po'house. But the last time I had control over 300 hp... it was a V-8 that got worse mileage..Impressive car, congrats!

And its very silly really about that front mount. I think that rule needs to be changed. Otherwise you could just buy an STi. They are just as fun

Finally got my hella superton horn set installed thanks to most of my friend Dale's help. I painted and assembled both sets, he's installing them. Hope and I bought a set each for our cars while at PDX and so yesterday I got around to dismantling them to paint the casing. She wanted black to blend in on her Legasti and I wanted white as a contrast to stand out behind the black grills of the STi.I'll post up more pics of the install on her car once we do it. Right now just got mine in tonight. While painting.Hood up and ready.Re-assemble of the horns.Close up...Work in progress.Indoors with the flashIndoors without the flash, they don't stand out to much which I like.Outdoors with the flash.Pretty small stock horn compared to the hella superton horns. Now I want someone to (removed) me off on the streets so I can sound these bad buys off. :D
